P320 SHORTCUTS - Forgot to Install Take Down Lever.

First time making this mistake. Immediately went right to this video. I had to do the 4th method and had to move the recoil spring assembly out of the way. Then was able rack slide fully to be able to take the striker assembly out and remove the FCU 😂 Thank you, so much!

Hey man I got a question about the recoil spring assembly parts kit. I just bought a new slide and barrel as well as the recoil spring parts but I wanted some clarification on what these two parts are; which are the Slide Catch Lever Spring, Post and Pin. How do I install those

Unless you are using grease to hold the spring cup to the lever, most people hold the spring/lever upside down and then turn the FCU upside down too and then once in place, turn right-side-up and put your pin in.

I somehow manhandled the slide off and the sear came up with the 2 little springs. Put it back together and seems to be working fine. Do you think something was damaged in the striker? Or the takedown bar that locks into the sear?

@SIGMECHANICS i skipped all those steps. The locked slide and fcu was kept in the frame and i pulled the frame and slide in opposite directions until the slide was forced off. The takedown bar and trigger bar were not moved. This is what im worried about. Upon reinstallation, i did not move the trigger bar but did move the takedown bar to seat into sear

@ What do you think would break first from my comment reply 2 weeks ago? I can't tell if there's more "frame squat" from dry fire or if that's how it was before. Kinda scared to fire with live rounds.

I know it's unrelated to this video, but I was just wondering if you ever covered the differences in the "Extractor Spring Guide" or "Extractor Tension Pin"? If I'm not mistaken, some work by just pushing them in to release the slide plate while the others require a hex bit that have to be pushed in and then turned to release the back plate. I never knew if they were compatible on all models and/or if they are different for some models (Like the M17 and M18 only use the one's that need to be turned while the "civilian" models have the regular kind or something like that).

I’ve never covered that but yes, there is an anti-tamper version for the US military, if I remember correctly, the anti-tamper works on any slide however it’s not easy to obtain the extractor part.

@@SIGMECHANICS Forgive the update... I just wanted to mention I checked a couple other sites and they said that the part was discontinued. Of 4 that I found 3 were out of stock/discontinued and AB Prototype has them in stock. They were all coyote brown, so I'm assuming is a M17/M18 part, but I don't know why they're discontinued (entire design/part discontinued, just discontinued in that color, etc...).

@Hope Williams, I used Mothers Mag as well as red and green compound blocks. It's just a matter of taking the time to do a nice job and you'll generally come out with a nice finish.

This should work so long as you can remove the slide from the grip.

Hey in your opinion is the geometry of the legion style trigger enough difference to make a difference over the regular x-series flat trigger???

@Hope Williams. I had both and I felt a difference when I switched it. Although, I didn’t test it to actually verify it. It definitely felt better if I recall.

This happened to me and I somehow in a panic pulled the trigger and made the striker drop then I was able to pull the slide off without removing fcu from grip. Does that does sound right haha?

Sounds like you got lucky, I remember the first time it happened to me… nerve racking and I had to spend several hours figuring out how everything worked in order to resolve the problem.
