This is probably something to do with the addon you're trying to install not being made with v4 in mind, since v4 is relatively new not many things support it yet

This hasn't fixed my problem (for 2.5). I have FS Migration Tool installed. With the tool disabled, programs can't find P3D. But enabled, they find it just fine. Very strange.

Alin Duplea it's if you have v3 installed, sometimes installers look for a v2 entry and that can be missing, this adds the v2 entry.basicay what this means is that if you have an addon that doesn't work with v3 but works with v2, it will install it... it disguises your v3 as v2 when necessary

Can you help me please? Im running REX essential plus HD 3.4.2014.1126 and prepar3d 3.4.22.19868 Im using windows 10 64 bit . When I load up REX, it shows both my Prepar3d and FSX licenses as purchased, but when I try to load textures into the simulator, a popup shows up saying "you cannot install textures into Prepar3d until you have a valid license key". This confuses me as ive already purchased the Prepar3d license for REX

try renaming your p3d.cfg to p3d old.cfg and move it (dont copy) to a folder you can come back to if you need to, this will let the sim build a new cfg on load and try it again

Thank you for the fix bro. With the reg edit i finally installed the pmdg aircrafts which was not happening before due to failure to find the correct folder location. However, after doing the reg edit and installing pmdg the new problem is that the screen goes black when i start prepar3D v3 and nothing happens then. When i open the task manager its still running but nothing shows up on the screen and I cant do anything. I found few videos on youtube who have tried to solve that but none of those fixes work for me. Can you help me with this ?

SOLVED FOR ALL P3D V4 USERS: You must do exactly what he does in the first part of the video. Starting from 3:25, include all the folders you see on his computer in the said locations, along with your P3D v4 folders. You must do what he says for both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\ and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node. If there is no Lockheed Martin folder in the WOW6432Node folder, then create one and do the same thing again. Good luck if this made sense

make sure its set to your root folder, some peoples prepar3d.exe is located under lockheed martin\prepar3d where as mine is located in just the lockheed martin folder itself, i dont have a prepar3d folder after lockheed martin so just make sure your root directory is correct

I just purchased a new 64 bit computer the Prepar3d and PMDG add on. In Prepar3D vehicle I select PMDG press OK with a error message: PMDG Debug Warning: the PMDG product was unable to create its work files, Please make sure you are running Prepar3D as administrator.
