There is another tool, called the Intelligent Standby List Cleaner, which is made by the same people who created DDU (a popular driver removal program). It has a GUI, which is easier for some people than setting up the task scheduler. This looks like a solid fix though, need to try it in my sim.

Very interesting, I will try that. I sometimes have the issue that the frames are good at the beginning of the flight, but when approaching the destination airport the frames drop. Starting a new flight from the same scenery and everything is fine.

Same! was getting a steady 50 frames upon departure and on arrival around 15??? wtf? and it was a less detailed airport I was flying into! Hope this does the trick :/

Adam thank you for this I'm going to try it as I just booted up my sim (P3Dv4)and checked and even on start up windows had cached 11.5GB! I run 32gb ram but I could not believe this.

Hi Adam, this is really simple but logical! I just could not find the program itself so pointed Actions to the.exe file in my download folder. It works but probably a better way to do this?

I tried your suggestion Adam and It worked had 10.6GB of files Cached I wondered for a while now why my pc was getting blurries in some areas as I have a high end PC I7 7700K 4.2 Ghz with a turbo boost with a 1070 Strix GTX graphics can with P3Dv4.5 on a dedicated 1TB drive, sim is loading now for a test It went to just over a GB now back down to 235mb anf building. I also use process lasso which helps. i also use a 35" curved screen ASUS gaming monitor with GSYNC enable to 100GHz refresh rate

Helllo , I follow your guide to create a task in task scheduler, I can see that the cache is working but still does not fix my out of memory to start P3D issue which start from yesterday.

This doesn’t fix out of memory issues, it simply deletes the cache memory to prevent it corrupted or taking too much disk space…. OOM affects the actual memory whereas the memory cache are files on your hard drive. If your getting actual OOM errors, it will happen if you’re using FSX/P3Dv1-3, if your using V4 or v5 and getting these errors, make sure Windows is managing your paging file system and that you haven’t set a particular amount. Also, if you’re low on disk space on your C drive, this can happen again as there is no space to build a cache on. Ensure you have at least 30g free space on the C drive.

Blurry ground textures could be there for a number of reasons. Basically what’s happening is that the higher detail textures are not loading in. Find out why and you’ve solved it. What is your pc specs please? Clearing the temp memory cache would not have any affect on solving that.

Sunny Ip I have it running and have never had a problem. There is a one to two second minor pause sometimes when it clears the memory, but it’s totally worth it to keep the system running smooth..

Installed as per the video. My sim now pauses every 5 minutes when the memory is cleared. Anyone else having this issue?

Jeff Lindquist yes that’s one side effect. A micro pause for one second. A small price to pay for having a smooth sim.

@@AdamJPestridge, actually it was a permanent pause. I turned off the Pause on Task in the sim and it solved the issue.

If guy follow the instructions on the video exactly, it will work. The only way to find out if it has is to watch the Cache memory in task manager and you will see it go to 0.0 after so long if done correctly.

Nicu Je87 the video is very simple. Following it and you can’t go wrong, unless Windows updates since I made this video is preventing you. The video shows it working. Others have had success. I suggest watching the video again.

it does not appear in the program files, you are creating a process to execute. If you watch your memory within the task manager, under performance, the cache will empty every 10 minutes if followed correctly.

@@AdamJPestridge yes the sysmain process is always running. I noticed a 3 second lag when clearing the memory. I have 5400rpm HDD only is that the problem ?

@@zsimulations2891 yes, a minor lag does happen depending on how much memory you have, I find the more memory, the less the lag....if you have a HDD drive, I also recommend Defrag6 to help speed up your drive....
