He’s a good person doing the wrong thing for the right reason. Honestly, if you didn’t know the Phantom Thieves’ methods, you could easily apply that same idea to them.

@@pyrocinematics6649 Even knowing the Phantom Thieves' methods, we can still say the same for them. Changing hearts can very easily be identified as a sort of brainwashing, forcing the "victim" so to speak to change their entire perspective on their actions, even changing their entire personalities. Put it like that, and suddenly what Maruki was doing doesn't sound very far off.

@@kitsunephantom6155 My view is that Maruki was right ideologically speaking. In the words of Bentham “Nature has placed mankind under two sovereign masters, pain and pleasure. It is for them alone to point out what we ought to do, as well as determine what we shall do.” Maruki’s actions may not have been entirely right, but suffering really is that bad. I’d choose the ideal over the real, every time

Suffering can certainly make a person stronger, but it can much more easily just break someone. Some actual challenge to life would be much better, but remove the legit suffering and we'll be set.

The entire story was one of the best clashes of ideology I've ever experienced, I love series like fate and games like persona, specifically the third semester because they take a thorough in depth look into the charector's ideologys

I got persona 5 royal day one. I NEVER PLAYED IT. Don’t ask me WHY, not even I know. About 2 months ago, I figured, why not. I started it. I COULDNT STOP. The game is a masterpiece and I am angry at myself for not playing it sooner. Especially 3rd semester. I would give so much to play this game for the first time again.

Maruki and Sumire 😍 I like them very much as a couple , they should have a chance if in the future, they will make a sequel of persona 5 royal, only together they will overcome everything. Maruki seems really interested to sumire, he wanted to save her from his pain, even using the wrong methods.I hope Atlus continues the Royal story🙏😊🥹❤️
