My middle school band played this and we nailed it! We took it to a big mid-west competition in St. Louis and got Gold Ratings. I played timpani. I love the end with the big presto at the end with the crazy timpani roll.

I remember being a freshman trumpet and being astonished at how fast flutes can go

We used to sing this in grade school in the 40's. I've had the tune running through my head all day, and had to search deep for it, along with others I found out. The title of the song is "Rosy Betsy Blue eyed Molly Molly". I could only remember one line from the song. "while Jenny wren is building in the willow"

We're playing this in band and it is the funnest time playing it as a band when we play it really fast! I play flute and the part at 0:55 is UNBELIEVABLY HARD! I love this peice 💟
@JDaTopo5 жыл бұрын
fluffy llama corn We’re playing this in our symphonic band at my school, and the freshman flutist can play 0:55 better than our senior flutist. (Better as in the freshman can actually play this where the senior messes up halfway through)

Played this at a music camp--the part near the beginning that the flutes and saxophone play (when it speeds up) is like impossible. but fun, haha.

ah, the whole entire piece the horns play nothing but offbeat eighth notes, but we finally have a good part in the middle with the trumpets.

The first oboe part on this piece is actually quite easier than expected. Like the part at 3:10, we only have to move one finger. And there are alternate fingerings to compensate for the D-flat section.
