Depending on the state in making an appointment for dual citizenship appointment, here in Texas it’s only by mail in application once approved then you bring your original copies personally in the Philippine consulate like Houston TX.

Matagal nang gusto namin ng mr. ko na mag-apply for dual citizenship. Pero dhl nagsisimula na noon ang pandemic ay naging mahirap mag-apply sa Bureau of Immigration sa Intramuros bukod pa sa hnd pwede ang walk-ins. kung kayat nagdecide na kami na wag nang ituloy ang pag-apply. Pero dhl may nakapagsabi sa amin na pwede na ngaun ang walk-ins ay nagbabalak na kaming ituloy ang pag-apply for dual citizenship. Maaring itong darating na month of june ay mag-apply na kaming 2 ng mr. ko.

Depending on what year they were born and when you guys became US citizens. It used to be that you had to give up your Philippine citizenship when you become a citizen of another country. But there's a fairly recent law that allow Philippine born citizens to restain their Philippine citizenship despite acquiring a new citizenship. But it only covers people born down to certain years. If I remember correctly, everyone born after 1973 retains their Philippine citizenship. With regards to your kids not having their naturalization papers, that can be problematic if they are ever asked to show proof of citizenship. While you guys are still alive and you have your naturalization papers, it would be wise for your kids to obtain their naturalization papers now, especially if they vote. They'll need it if they join the military or if they apply for a federal job or if their job requires clearance. There may be others, I just can think of them all right now. That said, read the Philippine immigration law. It's not that difficult to understand.

Even though your husband adopted her and changed her last name to his, she restrains her Philippine citizenship until you become a US citizen or she lives in the US- for 5 years, maybe 3 can't recall exactly in this case- files herself, takes the test and pass. What documents are required? If a person was born in PH and a US citizen by birth, because his /her father, a PH born was a naturalized US citizen before he/she was born. The father passed away years ago.

Unfortunately, your child will not be able to obtain a US citizenship under this circumstance without the dad being alive - even if his name was on your child's birth certificate. There's a lot of documents required that the father needs to file in order for your child to be granted US citizenship. Sorry.... You should read the law... It's not that difficult to understand.
