The action scene in episode 1 was amazing. It had those elements of horror that I really think made Halo CE special. I used to have nightmares after playing Halo CE as a kid for good reason.

Season one episode one the mid season fight when they lost part of the key from a brute and the last episode fight are some of the highlights of the first season. As a Sifi show on its own taking its own interpretation of the halo Universe its really well made and very entertaining, an amazing show that will please any Si-Fi lover. For anyone who wanted this to reflect the video game you will be disappointed. I think the second point is the reason there are some who dislike this show. You Tube reviewers are going overboard about it though.

They don’t have emotional outbursts at their superiors. They don’t have “locker room” banter with each other like a squad of ODSTs would. You can have a spirit of competition between the teams, but there is a bond between them that was poorly portrayed in the first episode.

The sequences looked good. I'm just upset that the over all direction of the show is not lining up with the franchise I'm a fan of, being halo. I don't want to take away all the work that goes into making it, I just wish that what everyone on this project was making was halo, not some halo-esque new franchise involving a character named makee. The fall of reach is one of the more documented events in the halo timeline, and as a fan of the franchise for over 20 years, we weren't asking for a new version. I wish it wasn't at this point but I'm really mad they even cast a chief in the flesh, they should have had Steve Downes do the voice and an army of stunt men in the suit. We shouldn't have ever seen chief out of his helmet, like the games. It could've made the sequences that we get chiefs perspective feel more interesting and personal instead of cheesy. Plus Steve's voice is chiefs, no offense to pablo but I can't not hear Mad Sweeney every time he talks. Like I would honestly be 100% into this show if it was just some new scy fy franchise, but because they called it halo and it isn't living up to what that means to me, I'm not liking what would otherwise be an awesome show. This is why adaptation is such a delicate thing, if you change too much you might as well go ahead and change the name of it too and just say it was inspired by the original, that will upset less people and let the new project you want to work on succeed or fail on its own merit

I want them to make him leave it on in combat and/or unsecured areas, but beyond that it doesn't ruin the character. He literally takes it off in the books. They don't take us seriously because "muh helmet" is such a whiny nitpick so they just ignore every criticism we have because they think that's all we're doing is whiny nitpicking. Also imagine having so shallow of a grasp of Halo that you think leaving a helmet on a character is the epitome of "being faithful to the franchise".

Despite never having played the game or known its storyline, I absolutely loved the first season of the show, and I am currently completely hooked on the second season. The characters are so captivating, the plot is incredibly engaging, and the production value is simply outstanding. I can confidently say that my enthusiasm for the show has only increased as I've delved deeper into the second season. The writers have done an amazing job of keeping me at the edge of my seat with their clever twists and turns, while the actors' performances have consistently exceeded my expectations. Overall, I couldn't be more thrilled with the show, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good action-packed series.

Season 2 seems to be doing that. With Ep 3, it looks like the Rubble storyline is going away and the main characters there are being directed toward Reach. Now, it's about the invasion of Reach by the Covenant, which is definitely not Halo-ish, but actually Halo. Fighting the Covenant is the primary story finally, it seems.

I will always prefer the books and the stoic game Chief I grew up with but, this is it's own universe. It has similarities but, its obviously a whole other universe. This is Silver Team Chief's universe, not Blue Team Chief's. For the classic fans if you keep in mind that this is not the canon universe its definitely an enjoyable series. Its a fresh take. I think Pablo is doing great with a new take. Would I love them to bring back the Steven Spielberg Landfall vibes or Canon series? Of course but, can't hate on someone playing a role in alternate universe. Ep. 4 left me wondering how they will deal with the Flood arc? Without Mjolnir he is at risk of infection unless he dawns old Mk4 or Mk5 mjolnir during a later battle of Reach.Will we see New Alexandria and Noble Team? The only annoying thing to me is the Rubble, Kwan, and the weapons audio. Like it feels out of place. I rather see Nathan Fillion return as Gunnery Sgt. Edward Buck leading ODSTs of Alpha Nine in this alternate universe and the guns to have their iconic sound and not all generic automatic everytime.. I am curious to see where this goes.The books and games made the genocidal war seem unwinnable..Look at ensemble studios portrayal of Harvest aka "5 long yrs" cutscene or Bungie's portrayal and live action marketing campaign of Halo 3 Believe, ODST and Reach. For newcoming fans of Halo of the Silver Universe, you'll understand why the fans of the books and games are in a different headspace. I like both the Blue and Silver Universe.

I think the way this show is going they could salvage the story by making it an alternate timeline where the Covenant succeed in defeating humans and almost manage to fire the rings but get thwarted by the Flood.....seriously! Losing Keyes on Reach was not the way to go :[ dumb dumb dumb. But honestly all the actors are doing great with what they are given, the action is beautiful but the story is pointlessly weird. Had they followed the REAL story-line but maybe fill in the gaps and add things to the already amazing and badass original story I would've had no complaints. Imagine seeing this big budget quality of acting, VFX, choreography, action covering the original Halo storyline but alongside watching Chief's story you get to see everything Keyes went through landing the Pillar of Autumn (Which probably wont be in the show now...who would even be the captain?) on the ring and also some SGT Johnson side action with Jenkins and his group.....oh well

I just want the criticism to be heard and to learn from it. We can all talk a big game and be rather rude. Yes, a lot of us feel very let down because only the core audience of the games and books knew a TV series was coming. I saw next to no advertising for it over the decade of planning. So please, stop getting on those of us that are disappointed and just learn to make the show better. Even if we don't end up liking it, just keep trying to make it better.

Honestly really enjoy writers and producers taking risks with this series. I love the Halo game storyline but its been played a lot. There is a lot more depth to dialog and characters here. Admitly, it's not pure action adventure but people who like character driven shows will really like it. Tbh, master-chief's story is pretty surface level in the game. I dont think this series takes away of the core elements of the Halo story. If it were a movie, yeah, i can for sure see an action focused theme working out but with a series, it cant just be "ok, lets go kick some ass, Cortana"

I'm getting sick of showmakers 'taking risks'. Just honor the source material. If you want to take risks, write your own story. Stop twisting existing ones to put your mark on it. Look at Last of Us. Look at Lord of the Rings. Those are wildly succesful, because they kept the vibe of what was originally wildly successful. Every time you have showmakers try and put their own personal mark on things, it gets watered down. I have no contempt for Pablo, he seems like a good dude. But I resent them changing Master Cheif into some other character who gets flustered, loses his temper, and now cares about personal feelings and desires instead of being a hero solely focused on whats best for humanity as a whole.

When you think about badass people in real life like Chris Kyle, even they go through things in the quiet hours of their life. I personally like this approach and it really doesn't take away the force of Master Chief's character. But I get it, not for everyone.

@@itsiggz As I said before, not for everyone. From my perspective, creators don't owe consumers anything. If their sales or viewership suffers, then the mistake will be obvious. I've played the games and read one of the books. You might be right about the fact that they want to reach a wider audience but I enjoy the originality of new ideas the show brings. They're not shallow, one dimensional tropes.

i realy dont know if ill recover from seeing master chief say his iconic "i need a weapon" while not even in his suit..what coulda been one of the baddest moments in cinema history was just blew over... i feel like they really doubled down on the whole helmet thing by removibg the suits all together...i really love the show and have been a fan of pablo since he played mad sweeny in american gods...but seeing the fall of reach goin down and spartans dying without their suits is ridiculous i find it very hard to beleive oni would do what they did

For the people that want to complain about Chief not having his armor on, I think there may be a good reason. I've noticed there's a lot on non-Halo fans watching the show who genuinely think it's cool. However, they may not be aware of how strong and fast the Spartans really are without their armor unlike the fans of the game knowing the lore and all. To show off their strength, they probably don't have the suits on to kind of show off the Spartans' abilities to the people who may believe that they aren't much without their armor. I would like to add that I have read The Fall of Reach and Chief has his armor off in multiple scenes.

Because that's what you are if you truly enjoy a one-dimensional story of a simple minded video game that's more predictable than the story that involves the flushing of piss and poo. The whole halo story has been told through the games and books. I think their goal is to weave themselves into that without completely regurgitating the same story. This season looks like it will be intertwined with the fall of reach book and then maybe we'll get led into some halo combat evolved storyline in the next season or two. could see the show become a lot like the last of us if that happens.

In my opinion, Pablo is a great actor and perfect for the role. However, I dislike season 1 and now 2. Reach was way underplayed, and Master Chief is never in his armor. The story is still a mess, and I'm sad for the series. I hoped it was going to be better, but there are too many plot holes, and the story just being sloppy. I'm now hoping for a reboot, but keep Pablo on there. That's just my opinion.

Pablo is great, choreography is great, action scenes are great Writers don't care about the franchise and are doing the franchise a disservice by turning Halo into a soap opera Please reference the source material more and get rid of the fluff, like random characters that we don't care about. The social justice warrior undertone, along with the deliberate disproportionate injection of minority characters created out of thin air screams virtue signaling. Don't think Halo fans are oblivious to what the writers are trying to do, using it as a platform to peddle postmodernist ideology. Season 2 is a step in the right direction. Keep that up and maybe you'll maintain some viewership.

More hardcore Halo fans are definitely happier with how season 2 is going compared to 1. Of course, you can't please them all, and they even contradict each other, but it does seem that the show creators are at least listening. Honestly, if the creator just created one episode that was nothing but MC, some spartans and marines having to retrieve some macguffin and spending the episode having to fight through various hordes of Covenant in various way, seeing the dialogue between marines, the flamboyant behavior and squeals of Grunts, etc, they would easily let a lot of their other gripes slide. Fans just want the conflict between humans and Covenant to be the actual primary story, which seemed to be a side-plot in season 1.

@@Jjw338 Yes it's hard but they are being PAID, and quite a bit in fact, to do so. They are professionals in their craft, I would hope they could keep it as true and faithful to the source material as possible, instead of blaming it on the fans and how its "too hard" to achieve, its lazy. Imagine all the great things humans would not have done if we simply labeled it as too hard and gave up on it. A bit of an exaggerated comparison here but: we went to the moon with processors weaker than some toasters have today. The Hollywood film industry has pumped out some of the greatest adaptions of all time yet can't do so here. Our problem is that it could be done better, yet was purposely not. That's what people need to understand.

I’m pretty sure most of the people involved in the show want it to stay as true to the games as they want. But there are higher ups that are the people really in charge of what gets green lit, and what happens. You can feel how much effort gets put into this show, but there is without a doubt people that run Paramount that have any true knowledge of how this show should go, and how big it truly could be if they really took 100% care in the storytelling. We wouldn’t have gotten the Season 1 treatment if they did. Would’ve been a whole rewrite/shoots.
