The "break tradition" idea is funny. I think having less than 12 teams in the PAC-12 broke tradition.

Since the 10 are leaving, the litigation concern is a real unknown. In my opinion, the 10 left. They screwed themselves.

The Supreme Court is meeting today to decide if they should intervene. We might hear the answer today.

It was announced, the Stay was lifted & the WSC refused to try. OSU & WSU won and are the sole decision makers of the PAC12 now.

Yep. You’re on it! More to come!

JY I understand your position and respect it but disagree. You are only considering the revenue. The 10 want their money now so they can leave without having any of the liabilities. That is simply not fair to the remaining 2, who want agreement with the sharing of the liabilities before the revenue is distributed. You can’t have one without the other. No business would ever be ran that way. Al parties need to share in equal distribution of revenues AND liabilities before anything is paid out. In my humble opinion!
@TheBigMountainPodcast Жыл бұрын
JY doesn’t disagree that liabilities should be shared among the 12. But withholding revenues now is not sharing in those revenues.
@davidhopkins1199 Жыл бұрын
@@TheBigMountainPodcast Totally understand. However once the money is paid out and then the 10 refuse to participate in the liabilities, how do you get the money back, if you ever do. File more lawsuits and pray you win. We both agree that all 12 schools need to participate in the liabilities and the revenue, it is the timing we respectfully disagree on. Hopefully, very soon, all 12 schools can come to an agreement, resolve these issues and let the cash flow begin. God knows OSU/WSU need this money as badly as the other 10 if not more so. Love your podcasts!

They didn't want to have the money go out until they figure out what money the leaving teams get

It's over. The PAC 2 win! And they should have won. How can the departing 10 claim that OSU and WSU are causing damage to their student athletes when they inflicted probably even more damage on the 2 teams that got screwed by them.

@@taylorcscott9536personally I believe that UNLV for its market, SDSU, Colorado State, and Boise State would get plucked, along with Tulane. I have a theory on who would fill out the balance of a new PAC conference, and they are all current P5 schools. It’s all speculation of course.

Who is responsible for the liabilities when the are clearly known, all twelve?
@TheBigMountainPodcast Жыл бұрын
That’s the question to which there is no clear answer right now. It’s up to who will be considered members. And that is in the courts.
@MadGreek-y9y Жыл бұрын
Yer making this too hard. Whatever liabilities the PAC 12 has get paid by all - per previous years SOP. After all liabilities are settled, the departing 10 teams take their share of the revenues made this year. OSU and WSU don’t get left holding the bag (whatever that bag might contain regarding liabilities), but they also don’t get to keep the revenues generated by the departing 10 teams who earned that money in 2023. This scorned X wife approach of OSU and WSU isn’t logical - it’s emotional. A judge will use critical thinking, logic, and the law to fairly divide the assets and liabilities - just like in the real world.
@TheBigMountainPodcast Жыл бұрын
You are making a fine argument for a possible settlement. That’s not what is in play here… Yet.

The blue guy make best point. There’s no long game for PAC 12 members.
