I remember studying the PACs on the Megalodon ages ago and seeing that they used acbs in a similar setup. I remember they had a timer setup like here to rotate damage types, but the charge time was dependent on range of the target (I think it was a 10, 5, & 2 sec charge, but it's been a while since I've looked, and don't remember the ranges).

You can control CRAM fuse settings with BB as well, specifically frag angle is fun to play with. You can make the same CRAM frag-bore through a target, or frag-360 like in an AA mode based on target inputs. Even change timed fuse to altitude fuse for ASW operations.

Hio Folks! You might want to set ACBs to react to current target instead of "if there is an enemy[...]" since it might cause conflicting ACBs fighting. For example: If you are currently shooting big thing with 20s charging and something small enters the playing field. The 2s and 20s ACBs fight, because both are now active. Settings flickering. So "technically" 2s wins since PAC won't get to 20s until all small enemies are gone. Cheers

In addition to what everyone here is saying in the comments, what you want to do is to use ACB to set a complex drive axis according to the volume (and/or health) of the target. Then, in BB you already have target speed and altitude. You can create a decision computer in BB using these inputs to get the exact damage type and recharge time for each PAC setting. Additionally, it's possible to modulate overclock rate according to battery charge. PAC is truly a min/max nerd's weapon, outside of it's natural inefficiency of course.

If you're looking for some ideas with BBs for PACs - I know a couple of the TG craft I've worked on use BBs for PACs (and the craft that don't are slowly being updated) - the gravitas and mania both use complicated BBs and have full documentation on how the BBs work. Pretty much using math/logic and GBS setters for the pac are all you really need to use them correctly

Everything you've done in this video can be done with breadboard except for finding the target volume. Most of it would work *better* in breadboard, and the volume thing you can use an ACB to tell the breadboard what the volume is as well, so your control is still all in one place for easy editing. I could whip up bread to do that stuff for you, frankly those are all easy things to solve. I've also recently made breadboard to check if a given PAC is unsafe to fire, and lua that pairs with that to disable the PAC lens in question so it won't blow up other things or damage itself further. And I've built an improved PAC door system that lets you have doors that open just long enough for your PAC to fire and then close again so it's not so exposed to enemy fire.

I believe the way you can do this with breadboards is using the generic block setter and selecting the PAC. That should allow you to set the damage type. edit: another option is to just have the breadboard control multiple ACBs

PAC are terrible I am finding out, however, the versatility is so cool and the programmablity its a lot of fun and growing on me.

Can you use these same methods to make something like the short range laser combiner, so that it shortens (does more damage) as its able to?

Unfortunately not, ACB controls for lasers are quite limited. You can change their colour and that's it. 🤷‍♂️ Breadboard has more options, but you can't affect the range unfortunately.
