Pac-Man Connect and Play - Longplay

First off, great comparison page link between this and Retro Arcade on your Retro Arcade review page. I am into New Rally-X, and I originally got Retro Arcade just because it had a right-handed joystick. Was willing to put up with the poorer sounds and music, but not only does Retro Arcade's new Rally-X count down your fuel faster, with a max fuel tank hitting the Lucky Flag you get only about 300 points, whereas in Connect and Play and the arcade you get a bit over 2000. Quite a difference in getting higher scores. You also start with 4 cars instead of 3, and no 80,000 bonus car as in Retro Arcade. I wound up doing some soldering and made my Connect and Play a right-handed joystick. It uses cheap switches for sure, but I've had no problem with the responsiveness of the joysticks in new Connect and Plays (which you can still get fairly cheap) even with a second unaltered left-handed one I bought.

I think that's just a setting for New Rally-X. Every compilation I've owned the game on has the ability to set the Extends to that setting, which also ups your lives to 4 instead of 3. And that inaccuracy in Retro Arcade was also infuriating; I'm so glad they fixed it here.

@@SuperViperT302 My main problem with the game is the controls in the PS1 and XBox 360 versions because the left stick or d-pad just does not work as well as the joysticks in the cheap plug and plays for making quick and tight turns in this game. Best option I found is using the left stick on an Xbox X/S controller with an adapter. Even using a microswitch fighting stick in both consoles doesn't work as well. I've tried 3 different ones with fairly short throws, and all were inferior to the cheap plug and play joysticks for this game for fast turns.

This was originally intended as a 35th anniversary promotion. It was so popular that it was rereleased in 2019.

Actually, these were around as far back as 2012. It was re-released with different packaging to coincide with Pac-Man's 35th, though.

it's both really cool and kinda shocking that it took this long before emulation was viable on these machines. i have a question for this, though. did they have to rewrite some of the code to handle the interface, since it differs from the usual interface?

Thinking dig dug, after round 15 clear, it was jump back to round 10 (unreal) it means round 16. And for galaga, to hit the stingray as (midori) from bosconian turn to green and mosquito as (momiji) from satelite, these both are 2000 pts and is glitch, and to hit galboss from galaxian flagship and blue spaceship as (enterprise) from space trecker, both was 3000 pts and made it 3 off with 2 in it is weird, fighter double ship bullet with the left is so creepy. Pac-Man Connect and Play -Dig Dug -Galaga Those 2 classic games maybe need a update or fix.

I've never seen that Dig Dug bug, likely because I've never made it that far on this console. As for the Galaga thing, I've seen that happen on the 60-in-1 iCade as well (I could be remembering incorrectly, though), so either it's an emulation bug or that's actually what the arcade machine does.

Years of playing these games and watching other people play them. Of course, I'm nowhere near the best at any of these games. But I at least like to believe I know what I'm doing when I play these games.

Listening and comparing, the games as they are presented here seem to be pitched slightly lower, and while my perfect pitch isn't precise enough to say for sure that A4 is at 440, it is certainly closer to it than it usually is. I kind of like that, but I suppose that is one of the minor inaccuracy you are talking about.
