Clearly you lot have a bad taste in Mewtwo. Others have bad tastes in other characters too and they get added despite that. I have a bad taste in Ike because his smash attacks are OP in my opinion, but he made it to SSB4, no doubt. People thought Chrom might replace him, but it seems Chrom might still make it, despite Ike's return. The same can happen for Mewtwo.

I was born in 1985. I'm a late 80's/all the 90's child. I grew up with the Sega/Nintendo war. I grew up with Sega and I love Sonic, and I also played in the arcade a lot, so I love Pac-Man, too. And while I never played a lot of Mega Man games, I like him, too. Seeing them in this game is pretty darn amazing. My younger self would have thought this would happen.

The only characters I think that could appear in the next Smash Bros. are (and I'm talking new characters) Bowser Jr. if they put in more Mario characters, possibly Ghiraham because Ganondorf was just a bulked up Captain Falcon (Or they can make Ganondorf use the sword he taunts with), Toon Zelda because she couldn't make the cut in Brawl due to time constraints, Dixie Kong because of the same reason as Toon Zelda, Another Metroid character (not Ridley) I'm not that in to Metroid so I don't know any of the characters and I don't think Sakurai wants Samus to be lonely, and thats all I can think. What do you guys think?

Surely Toad is a priority over Bowser Jr. Other than Toad, I don't think any other Mario characters are significant enough to be in Smash Bros. The rest are great characters but they are only re-interpretations or buddies of pre-existing characters.

I think that's it for third party. Remember this is a game for nintendo characters. Sonic, megaman, and pacman are iconic characters. Snake was an exception because kojima asked sakurai to add snake in brawl and sakurai agreed. Other then that adding more third party characters would devalue smash bros

Falcovsleon21 That's what really pissed me off about the PS All Stars roster. Unlike SSB which revels in the glory of past games, PS All Stars felt more like an advertisement for stuff that hadn't come out yet which is just shallow and cheap. Sadly I doubt we'll see a sequel given Sony shut down Superbot studio when the game didn't make as much money as they wanted and they ceased all future DLC.

I was actually one of the people who was adamantly AGAINST Pac-Man's inclusion before the reveal. I thought he wouldn't work, he wouldn't fit, and he wouldn't really represent Namco's current image. I would have preferred ANY other Namco character. Kite, Kilik, Leo, Lloyd, Luke Fon Fabre, Dig Dug, Mr. Driller, ANYONE. And then I saw the trailer, and the little guy charmed the heck out of me. He makes the classic Namco sound effects, he uses stff from other Namco games... He does his little wink and thumbs up and I just... I didn't care. I love those other Namco characters. Namco is probably my second favorite game company. I would have LOST MY HEAD for Leo or Kite, but... I've been converted. I love Pac-Man in Smash.

Andre, I'd like to share something... I may only be 17, but I've had so many fond memories of Pac-Man throughout my life (so far) that you guys have no idea how much this announcement means to me (on top of the fact that we'll be seeing Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man, and Mega Man all duking it out with each other). I was first introduced to the franchise via a Ms. Pac-Man machine in a bowling alley (That was apparently struck by a hurricane eventually). I'm not sure which followed what, but later on I found myself with some Namco Museums, Pac-Man Collection for the GBA, and then the GBA port of Pac-Man World. Things got better and better when I got Pac-Man Adventures in Time for the PC, and when I also received Pac-Man World 2 for my birthday a following year. The latter became one of my favorite (not-Mario) 3D platformers to this day. In 3rd grade, I got Pac-Man World 3 for the Gamecube, which while not as good as the second, was still very fun in its own right. Of course, all these games kept piling up in front of me, and I've been loving most of them, and have played some of the more obscure games like Super Pac-Man, Pac-Land, Jr. Pac-Man, etc. And now in these recent years, things didn't feel quite right. Nobody ever seemed to acknowledge any of the Pac-Man games other than the arcade originals (Pac & Ms.). Worse, the Pac-Man & The Ghostly Adventures show is a generic kids cartoon set in a completely different setting compared to the World games. And the show was followed by a bad tie-in video game. With Namco helping make the new Smash Bros, it seemed like all hope was lost for me to see Pac-Man become awesome again.... And then last night happened... Words cannot describe how overwhelmed and excited I was! I've waited my whole life for a crossover like this to happen, and there's no better game to do this than with SMASH BROS!!! AND it's THE Pac-Man look, and not Ghostly Adventures! I'm seriously psyched! :D I also really hope you guys check out some of the Pac-Man games I've mentioned, if you have happened to miss out on these greats!

First of all, you just summed up all of the Smash Bros hype for this year's E3 in the time it took me to find out about Pac-Man after the Smash tournament. Second, I love that Pac-Man made it to this version of Smash. Third, if Chrom or Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening make it, then I am all set for life: no more need for another fighting game in my life if one of these two characters make the roster. Captain Falcon will make it, no doubt. Ness is going to be there, no doubt. I doubt that Mewtwo will return and I hope for Zero or Bass from Megaman as an assist trophy. Well I guess we can't have Olimar then, he's the size of a penny, also, Pac man is huge in this! He's almost as tall as Zero suit samus! And did I mention Mario is close to bowser's hight? Size in smash bros is NON EXISTANT, Also Fox is almost as tall as Palutena, besides, Metriod needs more characters, who's a better choice? Besides, maybe they'll make Ridley his original game size, it would fit the nostalgia of this smash bros.

I am pretty sure jiggilypuff is returning (secret character) and I highly doubt we will get another pokemon newcomer and mewtwo is a variable. As for Ridley, he will be in ssb5 and it will be Dixie kong if another DK character joins (king k rool has not appeared since Mario superstar baseball and that game would not help his chances)

Phantom9252 The difference is, Sega is now a software publisher and has partnered with Nintendo for a while. Sony and Microsoft are still competitors in both hardware and software, as long as that is still true, you won't see their characters in any Nintendo game.

Aside from the rumors (Shulk, Chrom, Chorus Men/Rhythm Heaven) and returning veterans (Capt Falcon, Wario, Ice Climbers, Ness, G&W, Falco/Wolf, Ganon, Jigglypuff, R.O.B, & Meta Knight) There are several possibilities including: Mewtwo (Sakurai actually admitted to considering adding Mewtwo again because of his latest popularity boost), Bayonetta (Both games published by Nintendo now, as well she has Nintendo outfits in Bayonetta 2) King K. Rool (Donkey Kong) Roy (Fire Emblem, he's probably second most requested to return from the Melee cut, plus FE only has two reps so far, so 2 more wouldn't hurt)

Sadly, yes, there would be too much rage...however, that doesn't change the fact that if they put a couple FF characters in there, it would be so amazing to duke it out with them. At the same time, though, there's a lot of other picks that aren't as rage-inducing to hardcore fans. Though since Namco is behind it, part of me cries desperately for a Soul Caliber character to be included. It won't happen, but that part of me does wish it so.

Man, I'm just as happy as you are. Ever since Sonic was announced for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I wanted Mega Man right after, and after that, Pac-Man.
