They don't actually breed so sadly no. it might be possible to kill ones with undesirable features, but they still just multiply with the exact same dna, so even that wouldn't do anything.

Hello there. I was wondering if I could collect freshwater in a Ziploc bag and be able to see the organisms under a microscope without having to put anything else in the bag. I love your content!

I doubt you'd actually need a microscope to see it. Or at least I wouldn't. I wouldn't be able to see a lot of detail though. Just look carefully and under a good light. It would be very hard to see a live one in a microscope if it's in a ziploc bag, perhaps depositing on a drop of water on a slide.

it doesn't quite work like that... there are single-celled organism that can reach more than 1cm so it's not a "new world", but yeah just looking at your fingertip and you're seeing thousands of cells that construct its materials... i just find really cool when they die, their outer layer (plasmatic walls, at least what they're called here in Brazil) tries to match up again, expelling out in the process all the organels and the nucleus (if it has)... and the genetic material in it... aah just too much to talk about...! º^º'
