Pac-Man World is a fine game with bright colors, memorable levels, and weirdly dark humor. Its sequel, Pac-Man World 2, is a simpler title in some ways but very solid. Pac-Man World is such a huge step up in quality from the last Pac-Man platformer, Pac-in-Time, which was not originally even a Pac-Man game, that I still wonder why Namco stopped the Pac-Man World series when it seemed to be moving in a promising direction. Pac-Man World 3, the worst installment, is still pretty good. Another video game apparently in the same engine as Pac-Man World, Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness (2000), is also excellent. The worst part of Pac-Man World is easily the Ruins boss, Anubis Rex. I considered editing out the many, many deaths I experienced in that level but decided against it. Why ruin the authenticity? The mazes are another weakness. They are simply not particularly exciting compared to the main quest or even the original arcade game, also included. In particular, the traps that appear in these maze levels are more nuisances than anything else. Pac-Man: Adventures in Time would implement that kind of maze gimmick more successfully in 2000.

Pac Man World was one of the first video games I ever owned. Loved the bright colors, gameplay mechanics & interesting level designs. But Christ Almighty the camera was such a nightmare to work with.

Very nostalgic watching this. What a weird and not wholly impressive game. 20 years later I can totally understand why my parents always asked me "It's a beautiful day. Why don't you go outside?"

I'm hoping when the re-pac comes out, they'll sort out that annoying hitbox with those Swinging Logs in the Ruins area and to hope the Anubis Rex Boss gets nerfed; I hear from a lot of people that it is hard as heck

31:41-here's a little tip: butt bounce on the green switch and when the pac dots and the three ghosts appear do not eat all the pac dots. walk across the plank get the power pellet come back and eat the three ghosts. when the ghosts have been eaten then you can eat the pac dots.

The GBA version of Pac-Man World doesn't have the Factory Level on there I'm guessing the Gameboy Advance Version can be easier and shorter to beat than the PS1 Version without any of the other boss battles except for the final boss Toc-Man.

Glad you did the complete levels... In all the other "full gameplay" videos they skipped getting all the letters and skipped so much stuff. If you're going to skip stuff, why do a "full gameplay"? I remember the clown "Spin Dizzy" board as the absolute worst and most frustrating to get through.

@@robertcroxtonjr.7623 Hmmm. It's been a couple years since I played PMW, but iirc the controls work the same underwater when Pac-Man is chrome. So if Pac-Man is underwater and chrome, as long as you have some Pac-Dots, you press circle to throw one, if that is what you mean
