Yeah... one reason I might be going over my gaming budget for the year and picking this up. Sometimes ya gotta support the obscure titles we crave when they drop instead of waiting until the publisher believes there's no demand. (Also, wasn't planning on buying any more games, but... dang, I'm actually feeling the pull to give Splatoon an honest shot for the first time. Maybe I won't count multiplayer games as part of the previously mentioned gaming budget lol.)

And don't forget about 3. Honestly they should have released all 3 together for 60 bucks. I know the cost to redo these games would be quite a bit higher, but think how much more appealing the product would be. People would be way more excited about a trilogy of Pac-Men.

Yeah, I wish Namco went all out and remade the entire trilogy like they did for Crash Bandicoot. Pac-Man World 2 was one of my favorites, so I hope this game does well enough for Namco Bandai to remaster the other two games!

On the one hand, I doubt it will do well enough to justify any more releases, but on the other hand... publishers are dumping EVERYTHING on the Switch it seems like lol. (There's always a chance.) I believe I owned both 1 and 2 for the Gamecube (bought used for pretty cheap during the Wii era), but sadly I sold or otherwise offloaded my video games before I got to play them much. Might of played PMW 1 a bit. Well... I've somewhat rebuilt that library (and then some) in recent years, so maybe I need to pick this up. Almost forgot, but I'm thinking I probably will.

Imagine a brand new Super Pac-Man Odyssey style game. Awesome. (Though I'm kind of jealous of Pac-Man's fame... cause Q*bert doesn't receive any love these days... too bad Gottlieb didn't go on to become a giant game studio. There’s a reason these levels are linear and simple: the original game was made for PlayStation, a console where developers couldn’t depend on every player having a DualShock, so they had to make the entire game D-Pad-friendly. Contrast this game with its sequel on next-gen, where the levels are more open and complex. It’s because all three systems had controllers with analog sticks by DEFAULT.

I had the original growing up, and even fired it up a day before I picked this up. I have to say, it's a great improvement. I don't know if it was the controls or what, but I actually got much further than I did in this one than I did in the original. I always found myself getting Game Overs in the original, so I actually greatly appreciate how much easier this one was.

@@tomianz-1242 the original is very tough, it is easy to walk off the edge because of the graphics, you have to use the shadows and the movement of platforms to your advantage. However you can always replay the easy levels and build up a ton of lives so you don't get a game over. Good luck on the remake! It's worth a buy

I bought this day one on the PS5. Lots of great memories tied to this game. I remember playing it with my grandfather when I was 5 years old in 1999. Hope to see more remakes in the future! Pac-Man World 2 is a much better game in my opinion!

You can't really compare the graphics of this game to Crash and Spyro because this game runs at 60fps on consoles (even on switch with performance mode turned on) and Crash and Spyro is only at 30. And honestly, I take 60fps over nice graphics on a platformer any day of the weak

Pac-Man world for the PS1 is my favorite in the series but the remake is a little disappointing not much the only thing I was a little disappointed by was the voice acting instead of them talking it sounds like they're talking in another language while the subtitles are in English same storyline but the way Pac-Man's family gets kidnapped is a little different instead they're being kidnapped by the ghost's instead which makes a little more sense I don't mind that they change the cutscenes up a little bit cuz it's still the same story just a tad different but the gameplay is pretty cool little bit more challenging than the original the boss fight with Anubis Rex is toned down a bit still challenging but not like the original I don't know about adding the flutter kick cuz you can't move that much like Yoshi could you can only move a couple inches but it's not a bad remake I really do enjoy it hope we get a remastered version of Pac-Man world 2 and 3 as wel would also be cool if there was a remake of mystical ninja 64 and goemon's Great adventure!

I just buying in hopes this lets them know how badly we wanna see the remasters of the old world games but ...even if not, its okay. They at least gave us one to show what they could have done for the others. Only 7?? Weak analysis on this game. This game is anti stress. This game is very much fun and the linear gameplay is irrelevant in giving this a score. The linear gameplay is excellent. The controls are super. The graphics are great. The atmosphere is top. The music is excellent. Everything about this game is excellent and fun and deserves a higher score among many bullshit games nowadays. 8,5 at least would be fair. For me personally a 10/10 for the fun, uplifting and positive vibes the game brought me.

It’s a good remake and very faithful. But tight controls? No way. The controls get in the way and the camera works against the player constantly. Sometimes it’s hard to see where you need to jump because of the controls and camera, so you just get to lose lives until you guess it right.

the Reviewer must be quite young, Plattformers were always linear and 2 D for years and years. '2.5 D' came later on. They were called Jump n Run games, nobody called it 'Plattformer' back in the day. I think the fact that they only remastered the first game instead of all three is so lame. Remember when they use to give you value packs of all games? You’d buy Sonic Mega Collection and it came with every 16bit Sonic game with all the worthwhile spin offs? I just find these modern remakes rely too much on “look how good it looks!” instead of “look how much content you’re getting”.

Those compilations were easier to bundle together because not much is required to put them in a collection thanks to them being older titles, this is a complete remake as such more work required to bring it to life even more so when the source code does not exist

@@bamban_garcia5562 I get that but only to a degree. Because it’s not like these companies won’t piece meal some of these games with minimal under the hood work. And in the end, you are still paying a lot of money for a game that’s 20+ years old.

@@leeartlee915 Now Productions is an independent studio that gets contracted for said remakes from several publishers so in a way.you are correct that it was created within a certain budget as well.as the work that went into it but look how well it turned out, 23 year old title actually

@@bamban_garcia5562 Again, I was speaking more generally. I just feel that we don’t get as good a deal as we did 10-15 years ago when it comes to these rereleases. This updated version looks fine, good even. But what would someone rather have: a single game with prettier graphics or the entire series ported on one disc?

@@leeartlee915 Generally speaking consumers would likely prefer both options to be made available to them, personally I will always prefer a remake since its like a brand new much more improved experience over playing an entire collection of older titles I have played already
