Just bought the Paceman 187 LTD and I'm super happy with it. The newer versions can be powered by a 12V battery or by plugging it in. At top speed it's not super fast but is fast enough and so far has worked brilliantly.

Got one for my boys for Christmas, 12 & 10 years old. Perfect for back yard cricket. You do need to use there ball as it won't come out at up 90 km/hr. Perfect for getting their feet moving properly. Awesome simulation of in & out swing too....this did surprise me on how good it was. They are $500 plus a set of 12 balls (~$70). Picked mine up from Bradburn Sports in Hamilton (NZ) & no I'm not on the payroll....although I wouldn't say no to cash for the endorsement lol

Bought the paceman and if you use it correctly it's great for training on your own no need for expensive bowling machines, it's great for backyard and cricket net sessions. Is also great for youth training and senior training. The swing on the machine is amazing never thought it would swing so much got me a good bruise on my shin first ball so make sure you use pads, keen to see how much variety I can make from it, also great for slips catching or fielding practice.

For those looking for portable power options, we opted for a lightweight compact pure sine wave inverter generator 1 kva. At 8.5kg and giving 5-7 hours plus running from 2 litres of unleaded we just start it up and plug in the paceman. These can be sourced EBay. Ours a shade over 200 including delivery to sydney address. Versatile and works for us anyway.

The balls are softer but they are great to train with there not like soft like a squishy ball they still have toughness to them, I recomend this to anyone doesn't matter that it only goes to 90 km/h when your facing it just bring the machine a foot or two closer and you get your speed great investment

Yes, a bit like a hockey ball but lighter. The machine is designed specifically for this type of ball so no you cannot use other ball types.

Yes, you can certainly use a power converter as long it's designed to accomodate Australian plugs and voltage. At this point there is no plan to release a US model so you're best to go with the power converter option.
