@@ashley___12996 We had no turf pitches when I was a kid in my part of Aus, just concrete. If we were really lucky there was 'gabba grass' but usually those were ripped up and had big gaps of concrete. Which if you bowled spin and could land on the 'crack', it would skid along the ground and turn big :) But yeah, if you saved up and bought a nice new leather cricket ball, wanting to bowl swing? 15 minutes of bowling on that concrete, and the ball was torn up.
