Hard next few days but you always have a reasonable plan. Mountain Dew appears that you like a caffeine boost for the uphill portion of the trail. Love watching your adventures every morning with my oatmeal breakfast. You could write a book about this with tips for future hikers of the PCT.

We've been through Lassen. Fascinating area. We stayed in car-camping sites at that time with fixed metal bear-safes. Signs everywhere - do not leave food in your car. Use the safes. We saw wild turkeys jumping (as high as they could) in to bushes and trees to get food. We also picked Brombeeren for our Buchweizen pancakes for breakfast. Magical place. Too bad you will have to scurry through there.

It‘s always something 😂 mosquitoes, ants, bears, mountain lions - so many animals outbreeded that try to annoy or kill you 😬 the hawk was out of town when I was there 😂😂😂

Just started watching. Looking at your progress and what is ahead. Trying to guess how long to your next set of landmarks like Shasta and the Oregon Border. Am I right is guessing another month to get into Oregon?

I’m just curious about something. With all the resupplies, eating out and rides to and from trail, how do you pay? I guess you use a credit card for most, but how about all the rides?

I pay with cash or my credit card. The rides are mostly free. You just stick your thumb out and hitch, sometimes a car just stops and someone asks if you need a ride (usually around trail towns that are used to hikers). I usually ask them if they take donations for the gas. All the trail angels are amazing people and help us hikers so much.
