With all the snow, downed trees and mess of a trail, it would take someone two to four times as long to hike. The apps we use also keep us alive with the sharing of information like where to safely cross streams, bear sightings, and ways to get around trail that has been made impassable. If you thru hike with a compass and map this year, more power to you!
