Brian, Delos crew... Been watching (and re-watching)... Great stuff, I wish I had the cojones to sail, but not so easy when you're landlocked - We power boated for years, but it's very different, as you know... I checked out the Amel, it seems to be an excellent choice, albeit fairly expensive. With all of the amenities you carry, wondering why I haven't seen an "ice-maker" in your equipment inventory - I can't go too far without my creature comforts, and ice is one of them. I do take solo motorcycle sojourns and occasionally with a friend, we're off to Yellowstone, Salmon Idaho and Ketchum next month... 1400 miles in 4 days, looking forward to it - Great fun, looking forward to your next post... Keep cool and chive on!
@svdelos10 жыл бұрын
Oh awesome, I really love road trips. I've never done a long one on a motorcycle but I think I will if I ever get back to land. I see so many similarities between traveling this way and sailing!So we don't have an ice-maker mostly because they take a bit of power and our freezers are fairly good size. Since solar powers the boat refridgeration we just use old-school ice cube trays in the freezers and fill them up every day. Works ok but sometimes we run out on really hot days.Anyway thanks for watching and commenting :)

"Idiots are us" is what I would call some of these armchair commentators here...good grief! These are great videos. Some of the comments on here are made by cretins. There is nothing wrong with the accents and I speak as an Englishman. As an experienced yactsman myself I can appreciate good seamanship and that is what you see on the good ship 'Delos'. Everything else is a bonus. Just appreciate the shared experiences with agreat bunch of young people.

Jack Cade On the crossing to the Marquesas it was very little actually. If I remember correctly only to get across the Doldrums about 100 miles each side of the equator. Maybe a little more south of the line. In all I think we ran the engine about 1.5 days out of the 19 day passage. Fair Winds- Brian Sv Delos

how do you get rid of trash while out at sea?
@svdelos9 жыл бұрын
Rational Intuitive Mon Hey there! For longer passages, we generally have a compost bin that holds all of our organic and bio degradable wastes which we then throw overboard. And for the rest of the trash we store it in the forward lockers until we can get to a port where we can properly dispose of it and recycle what we can. Thanks for watching! :)
