I'm poor AF but have the aviation bug... thanks for letting me live vicariously through you!! I live in the area!

Not only that, but the Mission is 1st Class.

Hi Trevor, I'm sure others have commented on this but I really do appreciated your very methodical process and particularly talking aloud as you process your check list. Clearly you are not paying 'lip service' to this list, but are actually checking properly as you go through it. Excellent videos.

Thanks Phil. I do find it helpful to verbalize the checklists and other items as I am going through them. Even when I am solo (and no GoPros :-)), I do the same thing.

Congrats on 1k subscribers! Always fun when ATC makes you repeat three times you really meant RNAV 34
@twmba65 Жыл бұрын
Thanks JC! Yes sometimes you just need to be patient on your requests. Listening back to it during editing, I suspect the first one was ATC telling me to expect the visual or the RNAV and they weren't ready for me to make a selection. All good in any case!

Hi Trevor, beautiful video. I just bought myself a DA42 to fly in flight simulator 2020. The real thing is of course incomparable. But it makes me dreaming. Love it ! Many thanks !!

Thanks Erik! Is that the "COW" DA42? I saw that on another channel and it looked interesting.

Ha! First comment. Those were some nice shots of N62DL at the start of the video. I didn't think the temperature at Burns was that cold.

Thanks Antonio! It was cold on that day but the blue skies compensated.

It's pretty good ... I'll give you that. But how can you compete with "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the war room!" ?? 😆

13:05 Loving the camera placement for those views of the Cascades! One question, at 20:40 you are cleared direct ZULOD and you first use the heading knob and then enter direct on the G1000. Would it be sufficient to only enter direct on the G1000 or does ATC expect an immediate turn?
@twmba65 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Ibrahim! Really good question and you got the answer. I was always taught to get the turn going as quickly as possible especially in busy airspace ... just is kind to ATC! Going direct would probably have been fine but since I was already in heading mode, spinning the bug towards an approximate heading while I got ZULOD set up speeds things up by a couple of seconds.
@igclapp Жыл бұрын
@@twmba65 Ah yes, was just thinking you were already in heading mode so would have been easy to spin the heading knob to turn in the general direction of ZULOD.

Why do you always speak in the plural even though you’re obviously alone? Is this some aviation/pilot lingo?.
@twmba659 ай бұрын
Yes! It is just customary when talking to ATC to say "we" even if you are solo. There are no regs that require it but most pilots talk this way. Just the way we are taught 🙂

@@twmba65 I'm super impressed with the joy and beauty of your experiences flying the DA 42. I'm currently getting my PPL on a DA 40 and was wanted to ask a few questions about your overall experience, flight hours, safety, etc of owning a DA 42?? It seems like the DA 42 would be a perfect step up from a DA 40, specially for a low time pilot like myself. I'm available for a DM if you're interested and available to provide additional information. Many thanks in advance
