I am in North Eugene and on Wednesday about 6 PM had the most extraordinary thing happen! The last lightning made sparks in my house in my house! sparks in the middle of the air! mid air right there in front of me!!! it made a noise that noise that it makes when you short circuit something! not an electrical outlet nothing shorted out my hair didn't raise up. And it was just like a sparkler went off and And a few seconds disappeared!

Search tempest weather stations in your browser. Look for a weather station close to you. I found 2 in my location, so I don’t need to buy one lol

We need a major initiative to educate drivers on driving in storm conditions. Did you see the 45 car pile up on I5 last weekend?
@DisasterAstor24 күн бұрын
I think the most important part of defensive driving that people don’t seem to learn is that the majority of what is standing between you and something like a 45 car pile up is chance. There are a lot of good driving skills that can reduce that chance but there is no threshold for reducing that chance to zero. People who think they know “how to drive in storms” also have accidents.
@PacificNorthwestWeather23 күн бұрын
yes, its no shock with how bad drivers are, not one of those people was using safe following distances
@patrickrussell188823 күн бұрын
@@PacificNorthwestWeather, who needs space between cars?!?!? I always remember to keep at least one (big) car length for every ten miles/hr I am traveling. This is a minimum, and like you say, its no guarantee for safety.

Everett is, sometimes, in an exceptionally sheltered location, comparatively. The more Michael Snyder's forcast proves close to Spot on, the patterns show up. The Olympic Mts get Dumping Buckets of rain as No.Sound is dry, or even sunny, occasionally. 🎉

November is historically a big month for rain in the PNW. It may be the climatology folks are acknowledging our rain but it may not be enough to get us to average despite seeming like a lot.

We get them. Not frequently but we have had a few. One was just 15 mi from my house. Pick up an entire barn and relocated it almost on the nearby back country road.

@@jewel58s, wind is the likely pattern this time of year, like the Columbus Day winds in Oregon a number years ago (1960s?).

If you are in Coos Bay with wind, its Shore Acres State Park or southerly toward Cape Arago cliffs. Northeast area of Oregon, the rocks start at south side of Seaside. Then there's the Columbia River bar washing over jetties...best vantage/view is the lighthouse just above the US Coast Guard Station in Ilwaco, WA (and Cape Disappointment). The ENTIRE Oregon coast, though, has many picture perfect views!😊
