Love how you present this! I'm learning so much from you about how the PNW is affected by the global patterns.

My dad fell on the snow and ice in 2008 and shattered his hip. We had to chain up our Landcruiser which we’ve never had to do before just to go see him in the hospital. Huge snow. 😢

Super interesting factual comparisons. You earned some fancy weather for Xmas, Michael. Usually we have snow on Christmas. My kids have enough money for one of those weather gadgets, so I have stopped telling them what the weather prediction is. Bellingham is a tough call, anyway, because of the variations in contours of our land. We get snow on Y Road when down near shore (15 minutes away) it's just raining - or not... More sun breaks here than in MA winters.

Love your channel and your presentations! I've been a weather watcher for almost 50 years since I started skiing as a young teen. One thing that I'm curious about now was something you touched on in this video and that is the effects of the weather in Asia and how it dominoes over to us (the balancing graphic). I'm sure you're recall the major heat wave that we had in early summer a couple years ago that set all kinds of heat records in the PNW? At the time there were a couple articles that I picked up on that talked about how strong rains in China were the cause that triggered the weather anomaly on our end. In researching I also found out that China employs 35,000 people for the job of weather manipulation. One must assume that there's a lot more than cloud seeding going on for you to need this many people with that job description. So my question is, do you have any info on how effective China's weather manipulation is and what type of effects might we expect to see as a result of what they are doing in Asia.

I don't understand this weather we're having in whatcom county. Stiff northeast winds, not super cold but how is the weather coming from the west but a north/northeast wind just ripping out of the Frasier valley? It's miserable

Watching that Closely right now, there might be some east winds, not as strong as last Nov huge east blow, and there is a lower chance of strong southerly winds after that, doesnt look that bad right now, but check in tomorrow morning

Michael, a question if I may... with the winds and wave heights on the west coast of Vancouver Island, do you think that the straight of Georgia will experience choppy enough waters as to affect ferry traffic, say from Vancouver to Nanaimo on Saturday? Hoping not, but am ready for anything. Hope your weekend is great, and to all of you who appreciate this great weather source.
