I don't think I've ever seen the number of windstorms lined up, in sequence like this in the 60 plus years I've lived here.
@lightreign802118 күн бұрын
I’ve mentioned it before and might be more sensitive to it because I live out in the farmland around Bellingham but it already feels like a month of windstorms. Even without this next round, every couple days, house shaking winds.

I was at Barview Jetty yesterday and the waves were...underwhelming. I don't think they quite reached 20 feet. Luckily, the day was rain-free and clear enough to do a little whale watching, so all good. Thanks, Michael, for working through the holidays, but I don't think anyone would complain if you carb-loaded tonight, slept in tomorrow, and took the day off wandering around in your jammies. Just a suggestion. Have a happy!

I live in Diamond Point on the east side of Miller Peninsula. We get lumped together with Sequim’s weather but, interestingly, we get most of our wind from the south. This happens when a low passes to our north and wind funnels up from the Hood Canal. What I’m getting at is: Our area has micro climates and I appreciate how you present the data, detailed, clearly, and scientifically. Thank you!

There will be major BC Ferries disruptions and power outages on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. I love the storms, but Christmas Day and Boxing Day may not be very merry and bright this year. I'm going to take inspiration from our Canadian Maritime provinces and stock up on some "storm chips." Hopefully I'll find some roast turkey and stuffing flavoured chips to make up for the lack of the real thing. ;-)

What is a “Storm Chip”? Do tell.
@progenitrix18 күн бұрын
@@suereams1904 Storm chips are literally the bags of snacks you stockpile before a big storm hits and your power goes out and you can't cook. It's just a fun Maritimer name that's caught on. On the East Coast it's even more vital to stock up on your favourite snacks and liquor in preparation for a storm because you may find yourself snowed-in for at least a couple of days after a blizzard has past. Heaven forbid you don't have your favourite potato chips on hand to help you survive!😆
