Gotta love the T-1000 in Terminator, Bishop in Aliens, any robot in Star Wars and even Robocop.

Im just glad that Del toro made a movie about Giant mechs. Something i thought would never happen. Way better than those uninapired transformer movies which were cool but dumb.

Gurren Lagann, hands down. Mechas so large that they can only be measured in lightyears. Enough said.

They don't wander about. They're kinda like specimens of some sort. And they're usually inactive.

didn't notice at first but at 3:59 that Jaeger looks pretty close to EVA unit 00

So, when 'scientists' built these 100 ft tall robots and placed them in cities, did they even take the time to calculate how many people would die if said robot were to crash into a building? Hell, what about the amount of money required to repair these buildings? And the insurance costs to help those who were injured in this effort to save the world and the cost of the casket and the grave lot to bury the mass dead. Did they ever think this out?

Dell Toro did say it was a "western" take on the genre.

I would imagine they thought something like this... die or build a robot capable of fighting back... then they thought "this is going to have to be a big robot" and someone said "the risk is too high" and then everyone just kind of laughed and told him to go home lol

by your logic if the monsters were named angels then it would be exactly the same... i get it, del toro didnt mean to do something so similar to another people work... but to deny that evangelion and pacific rim have the same premise.... is just blind

I am trying to make robotic limbs that are able to be controlled by human brainwaves. I am trying to figure out the program right now. i have 4 years in college hopefully I figure everything out.

Armand Kalaydjian Good luck. Use the Internet for online counselling and help. Quora is good for general questions/inspiration. In Github you can put your codes online and other people can access them and modify/improve them in real time. Use dedicated cybernetics/AI forums for specific questions. There is already a lot of improvement in nerve-attaching prostethics. It should prove fructiful for developing robotic limbs to use brainwave technology in conjonction with nerve and muscle attachment procedures, not alone.
