Welcome back to our channel ! This is PACK-RAT MOVING CONTAINER MOVING DAY PART 1 ! We just bought a house!!! Now its time to pack this trailer full from our 3 bedroom house and see if it fits we couldn't be more excited about our new house here in central Florida! This has been in the making for awhile now and it finally here ! We thought we would use a moving contain to move our stuff in . This will be the first time we have used this way of moving so lets explore it together as this is Part 1 so more to come. Our church used these for storing bibles, hymn books a keyboard and some guitars while we waited on the Lord for provision. As always, he showed up and saved us and we were able to restore our worship center. Praise God !

Big drawback to PODs is they won’t let you have anything that had gas or fuel in ever in their container. Pack Rat allows mowers and stuff if you remove all the fuel.

Yes your right. This was the #1 reason for using them. Putting ride on mower inside a moving truck like u-haul is hard to do with 1 person. Best way to move 💯% First class.

We're moving 2,000 miles to a new state, and we're using 1-800-PACK-RAT for our stuff. It's expensive, but so far, they've been easy to work with. The empty container is supposed to get here in a couple of days, and I'm hoping for a smooth delivery. Thanks for this video!

@@FloridaFamFive Well, it's almost a year later, but we did it. Everything went pretty smoothly. They stuck to the schedule they promised us and everything was on time, but we did run into one snag. We ended up with two containers, and one of them was too heavy for them to get to our new house once it got to the warehouse. They couldn't explain how they were able to pick it up from our old house with no problem, but not be able to deliver it. We ended up having to drive two hours to the warehouse to get some of our things out of the container so that they could bring the rest of it to our house. It was a hassle, but they didn't charge us for the extra time the container was in storage, and they made it as easy as they could. I would use them again if we ever make another move, but I hope we never will because moving long distance is STRESSFUL.

Make sure you rent or purchase a heavy duty scale and weigh everything you put in that Pack Rat. Just 'cause you can fill it with your stuff doesn't mean they'll take it. If your 16' container is over weight, 6,500 lbs depending on who you ask they won't pick it up! Not only that, the driver won't tell you how much over weight so you just have to guess. Weigh everything and save yourself a huge headache. Also, having used them recently, they dropped the container a day and a half later than scheduled, were a no show, no call on two different scheduled pickup times, never returned a phone call, told me on two occasions that my container had been picked up and was at their Milpitas, CA facility, when in fact it was still in the driveway. Refused to let me speak directly with a manager or the warehouse (facility as they call it) until I raised enough hell and told them I would drive the hour and a half to Milpitas, CA to speak to someone who could offer more than a scripted apology. Good luck if this is the company you choose to work with.

I was woundring about that but he picked mine up and never said its to much. I had it packed even with ride on mower at the back. he got it picked up and went on with it.

Hello! I realize you did this video a year ago but I'm going to take a chance and hope you can answer my question for me because my time is running out here where I'm at. The place I've been renting for 16 years has been sold and I'm being forced out in a not-too-nice way! I'm moving from a town near Pensacola Florida to Tampa Florida. The whole trip consists of about 415 miles. My question is, with that distance, would you use the Rat Pack system or just get a large U-Haul truck and do it that way? I was going to use about a 15 to 16 ft truck pulling a full size trailer for my Nissan 350Z. I moved over a thousand miles in a 24-ft U-Haul years ago so I'm no stranger to this method. The only thing different this time is the distance is shorter, the truck is smaller, and I'll be pulling a full size car hauler. Money is the biggest object here. Which would be more feasible for me? Thanks! BTW... I'm accepting suggestions from anybody else that wants to chime in here, too! Thanks again!

Its going to be a lot cheaper if you rent a truck. For a few dollars more you can rent a bigger truck if needed and I would pull the Nissan. I found moving with a packrat container is so much easier. I really did like that a lot. but it's way cheaper just to rent a truck. I used it in town so it was easy with no miles. The miles get you up in cost. My first choice is Ryder when it comes to renting a truck. hands down they have some great trucks. U-haul is only good around town most of the time. Too many miles in a U-haul is rough lol. You have to go with the best price overall, so shop around. Ryder and budget trucks are good and are the same price if not cheaper at times. Container moving is so easy but you have to have money to go with it. I called and called and looked up stuff and tried to run the numbers and found out that the miles will cost way too much in the end. This was the 1 time using a container like this was going to with it for me moving 10miles down the road. My cost was just in renting it for storage for 30 days and that wasn't bad. You also have to pay to pick up and drop off but that still wasn't bad but when you add the high mileage charge and gas surcharge you don't come out ahead for going long distances no way to move using a contain unless you have money to waste. Good old moving tuck sucks hard labor but it's affordable. Moving can cost so much just in getting a new place. It's a lot cheaper to rent a truck throw your stuff in and go. Make sure you have a dolly or rent one. I have my own and it made it a lot better. I can load all my stuff using a Dolly-hand truck. I hope this helps. let me know what you decide. I really found it easy to load my stuff. Yes, I liked it a lot. First time using them and I have to say if you have the extra cash, this is the way to go. Moving trucks are cheap but come with a lot I mean a lot more work to load them. Using a container is effortless. Easy way to move your stuff and I liked I could take my time with it and not all in 1 day. You rent the container for 30 days just like a storage building and you load at your own pace. Hi, welcome to our channel. This was the easiest move I have ever made. I would do it again for sure. Pack-Rat company was easy to work with. The difference in moving with using pods like this one is the cost vs renting a truck. If the price is not a problem then this is the best. It was super easy and we fit so much in this container. When did you say disassemble I'm guessing you mean the trampoline?

You can rent a truck and slide it inside and you will not have to take it apart. Good luck.

I would say its the about the same. Go with the best price.
