For a 5 day trip, I would only do carry-on. My husband and I have done up to 3 weeks in Europe carry-on only. No risk of the airline losing your luggage.

American Airlines managed to lose my carry on when I traveled for Christmas, so I no longer believe it’s “no risk” when it comes to airlines and carry ons LOL. I mean, HOW?!?!

I love how realistic this is, you showed everything including underwear (crucial), makeup items(and which). My tip, just in case checked suitcase comes late, I like to put clothes and little bit of make up in both carry-on and checked suitcases. I just don't have that many makeup brushes even at home but that standing pouch looks really practical! Still, that's a lot of wipes and vitamins for 5 day trip! I would only bring small amount of separate packs or in plastic pill boxes... And all that sprays and drops for 5 day trip... haha, don't forget to put aerosols in check in suitcases! Just all the things we need... :/ but you are great at packing and organising!

Whenever we go on a plane trip, we bring an overhead bag with one set of clothes for each of us in case our check in luggage gets lost or late

I have the eBags backpack too. It’s the best. I did 2 weeks of travel moving every couple of days through South Africa a couple of years back. And since I have the junior size I was actually able to stuff it under the airplane seat in front of me. Love watching your videos!

I cannot believe you packed so much stuff into that cube!!! I need me some! I am getting better at packing less though. When I go back home I take most of my clothes in my carry-on and my luggage goes almost empty so I can go shopping and have lots of room to bring stuff back with me. My luggage is half way filled with frozen food for my parents and brother from our homeland that you can't get in the USA. Not sure I could have packed a little as you did for a 4 day 5 night trip... but then again who needs workout clothes when you go on vacation and get to walk around so much? LOL Very helpful video. That’s a lot of cosmetic tools and wipes you take on a 5 day trip! I would have taken one clothing item (at least) in my carry on, in case you needed a quick change but couldn’t access your suitcase. I also usually take swimming gear because many hotels have a pool or you may end up at a beach etc.

If I check luggage I always take an extra T-shirt / black leggings/ 2 xtra undies/ sox. It’s from my days as a mom travelling with a toddler. In case my kid pooped or threw up on me. But I still do it in case I lose my bag. Your trip was 5 days and you lost your bag for 2. I would have just packed an outfit in my carryon. 💓
