Seeing that on the unit was was a shocker. Seeing that old rotary phone in that house was an even bigger shock. That old phone should be in the Smithsonian! But that wass a great fix!

I learned that cold weather charging is not the same on all units. To be sure, recover, weigh to see if at factory charge by weight. Otherwise, wait till hotter weather. That sniffer was picking up on something. Suspect the core. Don't the heat strips have to be on during defrost?

Theyre supposed to be but they would also be on if the thermostat starts reading 1-2 degrees below setpoint to try and heat the home.

That valve core was leaking for sure.. you popped the bubble without seeing it grow. Check the video!
