what if the body is circular ? and what if we dont use sheet metal working please answer

Hello, The Sheet Metal tools can be used to represent a cylindrical body so long as you "break" the cylinder with a small cut along its length. The easiest way to do this would be to sketch a centerpoint arc that makes nearly a full circle (say 359 degrees) and then perform the sheet metal base flange command to extrude it into 3D. If you haven't used the sheet metal tools before I'd recommend checking the tutorials within the software for a quick guide on how to get started with sheet metal.

I would say Solidworks for a rough carton concept is ok but for final design it's the wrong application.
