3:26 Perhaps a poisoned catalyst is indeed literally "poisoned". After all, if an animal is poisoned, doesn't that usually mean a chemical is binding to the animal's catalysts (enzymes) and causing them to malfunction, and isn't that exactly what is happening here?
@ChemicalEngineeringGuy3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, technically its correct. Either way its just industrial "jargon"

In 7:26, I think you wrote the f inlet and outlet part wrong after reversing the equation. By the way, your lecture is very clear and understandable, thank you for this useful and good content. 🙏

The PFR is used only for homogeneous reactions or also for heterogeneous?
@marcelinevenus1709 Жыл бұрын
Sir, is FBR (Fixed bed reactor) and PBR the same? If not, do we still use the same formulas for calculations?
@ChemicalEngineeringGuy Жыл бұрын
Yeah! Packed Bec Reactor and Fixed Bed Reactor are the same

when given equation for rA and a value is gotten. how do I calculate rB. they are both reactants
@ChemicalEngineeringGuy Жыл бұрын
since they are related stoichiometrically, you can do so with stoichiometry factors, i.e. if 2 mol of A are reacting for every 1 mol of B, this means that the rate of reaction of A is 2x faster than the rate of reaction of B
