Love the advice to learn - not just fresh copywriting stuff, but also *niche* specific lessons and networking... Great review. I'm just getting back into it after working in house for an international medical aid nonprofit foundation, and then having kids... for like the past 8 years! Dho! I'm trying to make up for lost time and figure out what my niche should be now because in content land, a decade ago may as well have been a lifetime ago... and my niche of experience is not generally the highest paying. When I first got into blogging, the idea was selling banner ad space on your HTML site - that's how old I am. The term "monetization" didn't even exist like for the internet yet. Yikes! Right? So many folks in the biz now seem so young to be doing so well. You all single, childless folks can dedicate eons more time to your work... Would there still be a spot for an old timer or would clients think I'm washed out? For real, though. I've been signing up for whatever courses we can afford right now to get hip to today's game...and studying copywriters I see as legendary that have come up the last few years, as well as a few ancients amazeballs out there, and hitting my old Bly, Ogilvy books even though they're a bit dated for the Covid19 world... Sorry for the TMI - you just seem so approachable as a teacher. Thank you.

Thanks so much for reaching out and sharing your story. My best advice to brand new copywriters is to the study and handcopy the great copywriters in history. Tech changes, but the psychology of copywriting is what it's all about. You have to understand how people think and what motivates them to act. Many of my students can only spare like 20 minutes a day to work on their business. And they're blown away by how fast it grows. Also, as a freelancer, you'll probably never meet your clients in person. So you can't be judged by age or any other factors. All that matters is your writing. Awesome video! So this may be in the course and I haven't gotten to it yet.... so forgive me if this is a repeat question.... 😬 what word count and below would you consider to be short copy?

Thanks. I’d consider short copy things like Fb ads. I wouldn’t say there’s a precise word count that qualifies something as short copy, but for the sake of clarity let’s say 500 words or less could be considered short copy.
