I wish this had a packing peanuts test. I wonder what's the capacity like. Maybe 7lt?

I literally have this in my bag right now! Yeah, 6-7 liters seems about right

Simple but genius. Over the years I've struggled with leaky inflatables and traditional neck pillows that got lost after having to clip them outside of my bag. Now that I'm prepping for full-time travel, I'm going to try this out; I just picked up a Cabeau Evolution Classic on FB Marketplace for 5 bucks, and will pack it with the things that are only used occasionally, such as cool weather clothes like a fleece & thermals, or a puff jacket.

Can't beat 5 bucks! It works well I think for full-time travel because it's nice to have a neck pillow but I wouldn't want to carry around a full-sized one when you're really not using it that much. Not as comfortable as the foam that comes with it, but better than not having one at all.

Does that neck strap actually stop your head from bobbing forward? I can never find a travel pillow that prevents this.

Kinda, it keeps the front ends of the pillow together but there's still a little gap, at least on me.

Good video, as usual. But what bag is that? I haven't seen you review it.

That's the Tom Bihn Techonaut 30! I'm working on a review should be out shortly.

Great idea! On my destinations I always bring a fleece jacket and a raincoat that I wear on the plane. Instead, I could pack those outer layers in the neck pillow. I have an older Cabeau neck pillow and really like it.
@OneBagTravels6 ай бұрын
Absolutely, Ive been using a fleece as a neck pillow for awhile, actual pillow does a little better job keeping it together.

The title is misleading, as I was expecting a review of the Cabeau pillow. It would have been good to actually go deeply into a comfort comparison between your approach and the pillow per se. If you buy a (relative) expensive neck pillow like the Cabeau brand is I presume it is because you are looking for something of decent quality to sleep and a stuffed travel pillow with clothes seams that it would make it too soft to hold your neck.
@OneBagTravels6 ай бұрын
Good point, perhaps a better title would be in order. It's really a review of using the neck pillow as a stuff sack. And yes, stuffed clothes isn't as comfortable as a neck pillow, but it's much smaller. Update: I changed the video title.

@@OneBagTravels your comment made me think know that maybe there is a sweet spot on comfort/packability where depending on hours on a plane you would go with one solution or another... Have a cheap pillow case stuffed with clothes for shorter trips while using a Cabeau or other "expensive" options for longer ones... Food for thought 🤔
@OneBagTravels6 ай бұрын
@@D_Spaniard Yeah, that's the way to do it I think. Long flight, or staying with friends/family where weight isn't a big deal it makes sense to bring the more comfortable regular pillow. But shorter flights, or if you're moving around a lot and don't want to carry a huge pillow your entiire trip I think it makes sense to forego some comfort, pull out the foam and go for the pillow stuff-sack option.
