I had my first baby three months ago, my suggestions would be more zip onesies (it’s bloody hard dressing a newborn!), more nappies (it’s actually about 10 a day), some coconut water will save you during labor and don’t forget to wash all of babies clothes before you leave ☺️ Good luck!!! ❤️❤️

Cute 😍 Just a suggestion with your clothing after birth maybe would be practical picking something darker because you will bleed a lot and pads don't always catch everything. Also during labor you usually end up in a bra or just a tee as you get pretty sweaty.

My excitement is building 😊. Newborn's legs can often be really skinny chicken legs lol so you might find the shorts styles aren't the most baby flattering. Lots of onesies. Onesies rock!. And Weleda nappy cream is my number 1 go to bottom cream. Used it with all my 'babies' - I'm a Maternity nanny 😊. Also you can put aloe vera gel on damp pads and freeze them as perineum soothes. Remember to take the gel beads out of the covers if you heat the breast soothers in the microwave. Such an adventure

I have a two months old baby! You definitely need more onsies (i had to change him 4 times the second night because he peed them all😅) and definitely more nappies, at least 10 per day! During delivery just focus on breathing and inner sensations, don’t care too much about oils and music, just listen to your body and it will be a wonderful experience! I couldn’t have my husband with me ( Milan, april, covid period) but I had a wonderful experience and no epidural at all (first baby)! sending all the love!

I think our due dates are very close !! If you are delivery on the Gold Coast they have oil diffuser in each room already and I’ve been told to not being clary sage as it can diffuse into the ward which isn’t safe for women earlier in their pregnancy’s ! Very excited for you and watching this video as I’m 38 and still haven’t done mine haha

I wrote a list for my husband to help pack and leave the house for hospital and also for in hospital. When in labour you won’t be in your right mind to count out how many drops of essential oil needs to go into the diffuser etc so let your husband know how to do it all for you so you don’t have to think on the day xx

Ellen Fisher recently put out a vlog on postpartum care for after labor that may be helpful to you! and I recommend Alex and your sister to read a book called The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin that will them know the best ways to support you during labor. Midwife here- a lot of the breastfeeding products you brought are for when your milk is in, around day 2-4. Usually it’s day 3. The haaka isn’t useful until your milk is fully in because it can’t pull the colostrum out very well. While in the hospital you just need nipple cream and nursing bras or tops. You won’t really be leaking either- although rarely someone will leak colostrum but it’s not very much. The haaka is great though. Put it on the opposite side while you breastfeed on the other side and it will help to prevent engorgement (super full painful boobs) in the beginning. Again this is once your milk is fully in. As for the shield, I so rarely use them but when I do they are great. They are really only for flat nipples or if your breasts are so full on day 3/4 that the baby can’t latch properly. Otherwise they are usually not necessary and can lower your milk supply over time so best to avoid them if you can. The heating pads again will be useful when your milk is in and your breast are full. I recommend hiring a lactation consultant when you get home as that’s when things get harder. They are so helpful. Also, no need for that large bottle. If you do get anything out from pumping it will be maybe 1 mL. You can ask them for a syringe to store it inside the fridge. You’ll love having the comfortable loungewear/ PJs. Essential oils are great too. I also like those battery operated candles for labour. They make a big different in the atmosphere. Best of luck!

I would suggest more practical clothing for Bub, more zippy onesies and not sure how cold it is for you guys it’s freezing in Melbourne Depending on the weather I would also recommend some kind of baby outerwear like a pram suit for Bub when leaving the hospital 🥶

We have reusable nappies too!! but I think we will leave that task until maybe a few weeks after birth. For first time parents those first few weeks are going to be a huge learning curve so we will leave the reusable nappies until we have the swing of things ;)
