I wish B&R would make a soft-sided spinner style bag that was within the airlines 22 x 14 x 9 inch requirements. All their 21 or 22-inch pieces I measured in the store were taller than 22 inches (when the wheels are included), except for the international wide body, which was 15.5 inches wide (still over 14 inches). While some fit in today's United sizer, doesn't seem worth the risk to pay this much. It won't be long and airlines will have accurate sizers and 100% checks to bolster their profitability by catching us with bag check fees! Maybe some day manufacturers will publish accurate outside dimensions.

This reply might be a bit late for you but here is my tuppence worth and hope it helps. I have six pieces of Briggs and Riley baggage. I have been using them since the late 1990s. I have had a couple of rips and one wheel failure. The procedure for getting them fixed is walk in to any authorised retailer and drop your bag off. Pick it up all fixed a few days later, no cost, no questions, no receipts or proof of purchase required. Love the luggage and that is why I am in the process of buying a small B & R carry on as my luggage requirements have reduced. Anyone reading this and trying to decide - make the investment, you will be delighted.
