great carry on bag from briggs. this is a review after thousands of miles and 1 one year later it still looks great. the bag has a lifetime warranty.

only issue I found is when you compress the bag and place another bag on top it tends to want to tip over. you need to keep the bag expanded for greater stability

I have one of this, in all sizes. I have had it for 7years or more. And you send in for repairs any time there's a damage. It's a very very strong reliable travel luggage anytime any day. Thanks for the review.✌️

I'm moving to place, where they don't have any servicing centers (even in nearby countries), but B&R offers self-repair kits, which look super straightforward, so this luggage is absolutely worth it from a sustainability PoV :) glad to own!

That is what makes that global warranty so handy. As long as you can email them and ship it to and from, you should be ok. Sometimes traveling with their world countries I know that can be a challenge but usually you can find places to ship stuff to securely. Maybe a local hotel or something like that.

I just bought the domestic spinner after seeing someone pulling one in the subway station. I was loath to pay what they asked but hey--cry once, right? I planned to order it and have it sent to my house in Detroit but wanted to see it first, so headed across the street to Macy's. A saleslady asked if I needed help and demonstrated the bag's features. After ascertaining that she was on commission, I told her I'd roll it home (which is across the street). Sometimes being nice is more important than saving money.

Apparently they do go on sale from time to time. I missed the sale too and paid full price for 5 large suit cases from Briggs but I am okay with it because I do believe in buy once cry once philosophy. They make a great product and it is backed by a great warranty. I have never needed to use the warranty but I do hear they do take care of you. This also reminds me that I need to make a video about the other Briggs luggage I bought. I bought two large rollers for our family trips.

Great video, thank you. Question: does the suit packing compartment unzip and remove? I won't travel with a suit very often, and could use the front panel for other items.

The insert inside the zipped lid comes out but not the zippered section.

Also another good idea is to add to packing cubes to the upper lid. Two 10 inch cubes would fit nicely in the lid.

Hi, did you sell your old luggage? Just curious. Trying to decide what to do. Really awesome review. I just bought two 19” compact spinners which has the CX technology. Sweet spot for me as I don’t need a lot of space necessarily.

is it possible to stuff the bag with extension out or can you break the compression-expansion plastic brackets if you are rolling the bag around fully loaded? after landing at a destination I often need to extend my current suitcase which uses zippered expansion. It's great for when I need to buy food etc and store it in the suitcase until i head to the airport at which point I don't need the expansion before the flight.

Yes, you can pack and roll with the bag expanded. This is my preferred method because I pack the Briggs laptop top spinner bag on top which weights 30 lbs. The bag will tip over without being expanded. When you need to stuff the bag overhead I just shove it up and it ratchets on its own to compress the bag just enough to fit the bin.

The bracket is fairly sturdy so you would have to stuff it pretty well to break it.

What if you're 65 buying the bag? Would a couple of samsonite carry-ons make better sense? I bought a Brookstone when I was in my 40s and traveling for business constantly. I just retired it my last trip.

The casual traveler might think this bag is a lot until you have luggage fail on you. Samsonite does make some good bags. I still have some hard case ones from them that are 30 years old that I use for storage. My concern with Samsonite is that they make such a variety of bags, some good and some not so good. So you might find a good deal on one but just check the specs on it so you know you actually are getting a good deal and not just another cheap bag you need to replace in 5 years.

Thanks for the review. I'm curious to see how much more the case can hold if you used compression bags for the clothes 5:10. The expandable feature is nice but does that change the size requirement for carry-on's with domestic flights if you keep it uncompressed 8:18 ?

On a domestic flight I keep it uncompressed even if I have the room to compress because it keeps my laptop top case on top more stable. When I get onto the flight I push the bag up against the luggage compartment to compress the bag to size. The width has never stopped me on domestic flights either.

When it is fully expanded it will not fit horizontally. It will fit fully expanded on the overhead bins that require you to turn your bag on its side.

I just took a picture from a flight on a Embraer E-175 and the International fits just fine, it is snug but does fit. It does not fit on a Embraer ERJ 145 but no carry on does. These upper luggage compartments are designed for small duffel bags or backpacks. I have the picture but don't know how to upload jus the picture.

Will this fit on most US domestic overhead airplane bins? Since it’s 1 inch wider, and 1 inch shortest I was hoping the size still fits overhead for flights like Delta and southwest

It will fit in the overhead bin on anything bigger than a ERJ 145. ERJ 167 and up you are good to go! ERJ 145 can only fit backpacks and laptop bags anyways.

Tag Heur Aqua Racer Chrono model (quartz) I have done away with automatic watches for the most part. I cycle through watches and it was annoying to have to wind it up when you want to wear it. I know they have the cases that keep them moving but quartz seems so be the simple solution.

this is why I usually opt for the twin queen rooms at hotels. i like to spread out my stuff on the bed rather than using the drawers. I like to keep things in the open so I do not forget anything
