Alright. That is a cool tool accessory. I love it and will have to get one for my next tile job. Hopefully, this virus will be gone soon so we can all go back to work. Too many customers putting off their projects right now. Well, at least for me and those that I know. Cheers and be safe out there.

Had the same type of cutters, but it was a dedicated tool about the size of a drill. It was corded and you could buy replacement Cutter blades for it. For the life of me I can't remember the brand name tho. I stopped doing any tile work about 6 years ago. I sold it back then,but it was green in color. Don't think it cut circles tho, but certainly much better than a grinder or any other way as far as I'm concerned!! Handy now that it's an attachment and it cuts curves too! Thanks for the video Rob! 👍

I have a similar shear that we’ve used for twenty years that is made for hardi siding. It’s an absolute game changer for dust control. Just keep a bucket nearby for the curlys from the cut.

What's the name of it?

@@ConcordCarpenter. Kett Tool Co. Costs around $250. to $300. It is sold with the head permanently attached to a corded Black and Decker drill. Mine just broke after twenty years of use. I replaced it with something similar to Pactool by (Malco TSF2 Turbo Shear). Harvey Building Products sells it for $175. It's attached to any cordless impact drill.

Great review. How clean a line does it cut for a visible exposed cut? We are using soffit hardiboard to box in corners on the exterior of a building.

I think this tool is just what I need but they won't ship to the UK so annoyed I mainly do bathroom remodeling and as such use a lot of Hardie backer board
@BiggMo4 жыл бұрын
It’s an adaptation of a sheer thats been used for years in sheet metal work so it’s a tried and proven platform. My only questions are, how quickly do the blades dull and how quickly can they be changed out.
@ConcordCarpenter4 жыл бұрын
Big Mo great question, time will tell . They change out easy Dont know the replacement cost
@xtranormal23504 жыл бұрын
I have used the corded snapper shear from PacTool that I assume uses the same blades as this attachment and have gone well over 2 years without changing the blade doing something like 40 bathrooms with it (14 sheets of 3x5 backer board each bathroom). It might just now be starting to need a replacement.

Will it cut 1/2" board or only 1/4" & 1/4"?
@ConcordCarpenter4 жыл бұрын
Bill Sheffield 1/2 was there a typo?
@billsheffield45724 жыл бұрын
@@ConcordCarpenter There was a typo but, stupid me didn't read the description of its cutting capabilities , BEFORE writing the comment. I meant to say 1/4"&1/8" . I use far more 1/2" than anything else so that's what I meant to ask , but see now it cuts that thickness. Wish Milwaukee would come out with a dedicated tool for cement board, that I would buy. This attachment looks kinda awkward to use but guess I would get used to it after awhile.

It's cool if you're doing this all the time as a contractor but I've always just scored with a blade and snapped it like drywall. It takes a good number of scores to get to the fiberglass meth but it will eventually cut it.

I wondered what "backerboard" was but suspected the truth. We call it tile underlay and in bathroom we have to wetseal before tiles go down. Incidentally the cutter is $166 AUD unfortunately
