What a pleasant trip down the Severn, apart from the pollution obviously. I'm pretty new to paddle boarding so found this very informative, especially with the what three words locations.

certainly a great adventure. I have a stand up paddle board myself. However I do have to acknowledge that picking up plastic on an iSUP is contradicting because the plastic you are standing on is harder to recycle than the plastic you are picking up. iSUPs are made of PVC type 3 non recyclable plastic. All of which will end up in landfill. Companies that produce iSUPs do a great job at covering this truth because they are making profit from it. But they are producing so many, what can we do. Might as well enjoy it. The issue won't be addressed until it becomes an emergency.

Fantastic. We'll done. One daft question. What did you do with boards when you went into Town to eat, etc?
@jonnyfelgate7825 Жыл бұрын
What did you do with the plastic you picked up? Surely you’d have had like loads to bring on your board?

I never used fins on the river, you don’t need them, i always lower myself on rapids or sit down

Good adventure but worth setting a good example and wear a PFD! I know you are attached to the bird by a leash but if you required to release due to a snag you’d then have no flotation!

I'm from northern Ukraine, just ordered and paid, Gladiator12, 6T, everything is gone, the war, can no longer buy in Ukraine😭, the dream is destroyed. On the board is the most important thing to heal nerves, from war.

Matt from ALABAMA Brother I hope you have been able to get your board and enjoy it. Paddleboarding is an amazing therapy for more than just the physical benefit. Peace to all.

Do you need a licence to paddle anywhere in UK or which way does it work?
@johnhorsfall2 жыл бұрын
We had a canal and rivers licence which meant we could go through the locks. You can get a 7 day pass and if you are doing touring, it is we worth it. What are you planning?
@brolisimo2 жыл бұрын
@@johnhorsfall I am just debating now to buy 3 person kayak/packraft for paddling myself with young sons occasionally. I would use it on lakes, maybe sea shore and would like to do rivers as well where the licence not needed.
@terrancedactielle5460 Жыл бұрын
@brolisimo this section of the river is free to navigate until you get to Stourport. Eventually you can do this trip until Stourport without a licence but after you would need one.
@brolisimo Жыл бұрын
@@terrancedactielle5460 thank you. Up till this moment I found out a lot about which places needs licences, and which don't, and we've done some kayaking already on the sea shore and in some lakes. Now my plan is Atcham-Ironbridge on River Severn, which is free as well(at least was) :)

In order to get to a point where the water was deep enough for our paddles, we had to drive a bit at the start. The River seven depth changes daily

Just wondering, why chop off top and bottom of the video? We'd be able to see more if it wasn't cropped.

You should have been wearing a helmet thought Jackfield. It's almost as though you have no river safety awareness. You also need river fins.

A not very intense set of "rapids"... If you could call them that. I've done them a number of times , not really any danger if you're confident in the water
