Have you ever had a trip so perfect that you were sure it would never be topped... a trip so perfect you almost don't believe it happened?
Incredible weather, rare beautiful fish, and a wilderness waterfall made this one of my most special trips, and I'm afraid I'll never top it.
Come join us on a surreal, sensibly perfect trip into canoe country.

Yes you do!! I think everyone could use a couple days "roughing it" in canoe country. :)

Hey guy! I’ve been watching your videos trying to keep warm, lol. We have three trips planned this summer can’t wait. How’s your planning going? Tight lines bud!

Hey Scott!! Good to hear from you :) Planning is going great, too excited already. Going to finally be hitting Crooked with a Mudro entry in early June, hoping to make it to Saturday Bay on day 2 and base camp there for several days and hit Curtain Falls and Sunday Bay. Also have my first solo trip planned for 2 weeks prior for a Kawishiwi Lake entry, looking for solitude and maybe a few bass. :) Despite the recent cold, spring feels like it's just around the corner, and I'm getting antsy!

@@TechnicallyRugged Nice! We're doing Duncan with basecamp on Rose end of June, then Moose River North basecamp Tiger Bay/Iron early August, and then my son and I are doing the Border Route Challenge end of August. That Crooked route is great, I have extensive fishing notes on Crooked and especially Saturday if you want to email me, happy to share!

Those are some awesome sounding routes. I'd love to spend a few days on Duncan in the fall; maybe I'll get lucky with a permit for the girlfriend and I, but they usually go pretty quick. I'm jealous of your border route trip. Maybe in a few years I'll convince someone to do it with me! I'll definitely shoot you an email though as I never turn down fishing tips. ;) Thanks Scott!

Damn... this trip was gorgeous. If this is the one Will and I missed out on joining you and Holly on.. I’m so so sad! Hoping maybe this year we can finally take a trip together.

What paddles are you guys using? Do you like them?
@TechnicallyRugged
@TechnicallyRugged 3 жыл бұрын
They were provided by our outfitter (Bearskin Outfitters), made by Accent. Looking at Accent's website, they might be the Premier Bolt? They were bent shaft, very lightweight, very enjoyable to paddle with. I would have preferred a slightly larger blade if I had to complain about something, but otherwise they were great.

My girlfriend and I did some hikes over a long weekend up on the North Shore the second week of October, had fantastic weather! 70F and sunny on Friday. It's magical up there in the fall. I have some videos of the hikes on my channel if you're interested! Thanks for watching :)

Looks fantastic, what are the legal requirements of heading out there?
@TechnicallyRugged
@TechnicallyRugged 3 жыл бұрын
You need an entry permit purchased through Recreation.gov or through an outfitter, which allows you to enter the BWCA through a designated entry point on a specific day with a specific number of people. If you want to fish, you'll need a MN fishing license from the MN DNR. Beyond that, there are no other "legal" requirements. There are rules for the BWCA like LNT, no metal/glass cans or bottles, etc. You will be informed of these things when reserving your permit and when picking it up at a ranger station or outfitter. Check out my BWCA trip planning video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZDEmJ6jjtp5pck) and let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks for watching!
