Don’t think I’ve ever had an Italian knife in my life. I need to remedy that. Gorgeous knife Paddy. Good stuff as always, mate 👊🏻

Man, that is a fantastic looking knife. Not much into slip joints, but there are a few I would like to own, and I think this might be one of them. Great video, Paddy. Thanks.

Hi Paddy . Nice look at the Viper . You did a video on wee little big knives the other day when you said you consider budget to be sub 70 or 75 pounds . I don't like these categories, but I know we all have them . To me that is mid range . My point ? I rarely spend over 100 pounds on a knife , but pretty much every time I do , it's for an Italian knife . I adore them and think that they are so stylish.Catch you on the live later matey , A T B Tony . 🐴🏴

Hey, this is one of 3 Viper knives that I own. It's quite a nice one, and I really like the pop that the fat carbon adds. I think I prefer the "Hug" model over the "Twin" personally, but they're designed by different folks for different tasks and they're both fantastic. I've only really picked up Italian-made models in the last couple years, and haven't been let down by their M390 thus far. It's possible that they've improved their heat treating in recent years, it wasn't as severe as many state that it was or there were some batches that were subpar in the past. I couldn't say for sure, but I'm not deterred from buying Italian knives in M390 based in what I've got.

This looks wonderful for a modern slippy, and really appreciate the 7 back-end pull, as well as the blade shape. Thanks, Paddy!

Very nice looking modern slipjoint you have there Stephen. Que bella! I just love Viper's slips too and often use the one that came with my Hug for other knives. Only problem I have ever had with an Italian knife was with an MKM Edge which didn't come arm hair shaving sharp! A quick strop soon put that right.

"If you can't do with 3 inches, you got problems" that one gave me a good laugh. I've always had good luck with the MKM slipjoints. I've had the Lionsteel Bestman and the Lionsteel Dom (Barlow) but my favorite one is the MKM Root in titanium and M390. It has a beautiful modified sheepsfoot and the walk and talk was excellent. They make wonderful mid tier production modern slips. Also check out the Lionsteel Jack JK1. It almost reminds me of a more modern rendition of that Maserin knife atleast by the pictures

The Twin is definately on my radar. UK legal version of the Turn (sexy knife) in my opinion. Saving my pennies for one

I would buy this knife made by classic Italian knife makers and pay the price for it happily. It appeals to me more than one made in China where they take others designs and copy them.☘🥔🔪

With Lionsteel I think there problem was just for a short period of time. Things like that end up sticking in peoples minds for a long time. I have 2 Lionsteel Bestman dual bladed knives. I have reprofiled them and they are most defiantly hard M390! 45 minuets non stop on an 8 inch 220 grit DMT bench stone to set a new bevel!
