Thanks for the analysis Sandy, a pleasure to be humbled like this 😉 If you wanna make a "part 2" after 6 months of progressing we'd be more than happy to provide! It felt good to hear your comments, moving as a pair and contacting the ball in front of us has been our key areas in desperate need of polishing 😅

This is a good base to start from and definitely reach out in 6 months to see the progress, that's what we do with our students and I love seeing the improvements!! :)

at minute 3:00 until 4:00 there is a nice analyses of lobs + bajada's situations. What is the main error they are doing though? Is it a timing error (option 1) or a positioning error (option 2)? 1) Are the players just too late to get behind the ball, meaning they should have better footwork and reflexes? 2) Or are they getting the wrong position when hitting the ball?
@ThePadelSchool3 жыл бұрын
It is mainly that they are taking too long to get into position - whether it is mental and they are just not concentrating on which shot to hit next or physical and their steps are too slow/small to get in position.

Hey Sandy, Thanks for the great video, you gave some really helpful tips. I wanted to ask if its possible for future videos, to show examples of how it should be done (for example by professional players) in order to really understand the difference and the mistakes you are talking about. Currently, for me as a beginner, it's sometimes difficult to imagine the way they should have played. Therefore a visual example would be very helpful to understand better the mistakes and how it should have been played. Keep up the great work and thank you for your videos!

The serve at 1:17 has to be illegal though right? You did not comment on this. He is hitting at navel height. Serve contact point should be below waist right?
@TheRealBlueSwan3 жыл бұрын
Hard to tell exactly, really. I tend to think that this serve would be accepted as being "waist height". Sandy?
@Buurmanni3 жыл бұрын
Below the lowest bone of the rib cage (you can check yorself, the ribs go quite low by your sides) has been a solid interpetation for us at least. Below the crest of the hip bone is too low, if you watch how the pros serve.
@ThePadelSchool3 жыл бұрын
I would say this serve is borderline. If you pause it on the contact it is in line with the waist (above the hip bone and thinnest part of the torso).

I have a question not related to this video. If an opponent smashes the ball and it bounces on the fence over the backwall, and/or the corner fence, can we still play the ball before it lands, or is it a point to the opponents? Great vid btw!

You just play on and the point is not over

as someone just started and coming from years of tennis, this is so funny. These starters are so good/decent at the lobs and even the glass. But the offence is so lacking compared to the defence
@TheRealBlueSwan3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, many experienced tennis players will be very adept at aggressive volleying/overheads but terrible at reading the glass. Same for me, really. I started playing padel after 30+ years of playing tennis.
@davidfortini32053 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealBlueSwan Yes even though aggressive overheads/volleying look great, they are effective only at beginners level. Tactics count more in padel than tennis.
