The director is known for his attention to detail. Even the fabrics used for the clothing are hand loomed to be as exact duplicates to cloth types from the era. Real gold threads and pearls from the nearby ocean and unpolished diamonds (as was the custom during the period) are all hand sewn to the fabrics. For the fire and lights in the dancing scenes candles and oil lamps are used. The director had 5 people on hand to relight lamps and candles and add fuel as needed. He had to call cut everytime a flame went out on set in order to get the perfect shots. Every time he yelled cut, 5 people ran around relighting so they could immediately roll again.

With a series of pirouettes, spins and hip movements, dancers move in and out of a wide circle. In some cases it includes fire in their dancing or stack earthen pots upon their heads, which they masterfully balance while spinning. New brides perform ghoomar upon being welcomed to their marital home. It is also performed for festivals like Diwali and Holi, as well as on the beginning of the monsoon season.

Hiii. I liked your reaction. There ia a full version of the video song. U should react to that too. The shooting of the song was almost 46 days and her outfit was 30 kgs (as they contained embroideries of pure gold threads which is something popular in India) and also her traditional Indian jewelleries were 20 kgs as they were of pure gold, silver, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and other precious stones...making a total of 50 kgs on her body (you can pay attention to her feet while she was twirling). According to the choreographer of the dance...the dress was soo heavy that when she was twirling, the dress would take her with it and it was difficult to stop and twirl on the other direction. Now why such a heavy dress and heavy jewellery ? The director of this movie Mr Sanjay Leela Bhansali is well known for his set designs and visuals and he himself is the music composer of this song. He wanted everything perfect for this movie as it is a story based on the 13th century where queens from that period would wear these rich, heavy and colourful clothings. He try to adapt the thing and the movie turned out to be one of the most extravagent movie. I hope u read my comment.
