They deleted it because back in the days Prequel haters would scream ‘BORING POLITICS’. Now I reckon if they keep this scene in the film it would make AtoC a much more political thriller kind of film.
@kaceyanders65994 жыл бұрын
Star Wars, as the name implies, is about conflict, which always has some political edge on it. The "boring politics" is an essential element to the story - how one man's corruption and conniving engineered a situation where people voted to give him emergency powers and which he then refused to relinquish even after the separatists were beaten. Politics is everything in that situation.

Whether you like it or not Politics is really important of how palapatine conquered the galaxy for 30 years And how he corrupted the entire galaxy That's the reason why palapatine used anakin as his apprentice and he made Anakin into darth Vader

No one was complaining back then about boring politics. The vast majority of fans were still all after the phantom menace. My critique of the prequels did not build till after the revenge of the sith which is when most people I know began to look closer at what was presented. For me Attack of the Clones renewed my interest as I was not that hyped from the Phantom Menace. My extreme dislike actually grew from those who constantly fall to the dark side and call anyone who has a critical view towards the prequels as haters.

This scene should've been in AOTC because I believe it added more depth to the plot such as why Palpatine was so desperate to be rid of Padme and it showed how Padme developed from Queen to Senator. I think this is why George Lucas decided to show more scenes like this in TCW because it revealed how Padme was the one who can stop Palpatine from succeeding with his plans.

The speech style that Queen Amidala adapted was learnt by all the handmaidens so that when they had to step in as a decoy they would all sound the same. The Galactic Imperial senate was probably like the real world Senate it is based on, the Roman Imperial Senate. They held on after the Fall of the Republic, but just barely, and yet they still managed to kill and even appoint many an Emperor. In Star Wars, the raising of Senator Mon Mothma is similar to this, only, like appointed reluctant leaders in the real world (Marcus Aeralius, George Washington and Charles De Gaulle) she had no interest in being an autocrat, and so shared her power. As JRR Tolkien said ‘The most improper job of any man, even saints (who at any rate were at least unwilling to take it on), is bossing other men. Not one in a million is fit for it, and least of all those who seek the opportunity’

Trouble with this scene is that it's too idealistic and pacifist. They don't build the army, then what? Tons of droids attack, what are they going to do? Pacifism doesn't work if the other side wants to fight. But the movie is confusing on this point. They're debating a measure to create an army yet there's also a secret army made which they just use anyway, even though they can connect it to the separatists. The Jedi were pretty dumb to not suspect anything fishy. The story should be changed so it's out in the open. Building the army is proposed but voted down. Then there's a droid attack, many Jedi are killed. So there's another vote and it passes. The clone army is built quickly and deployed.
@legrandliseurtri7495 Жыл бұрын
Count Dooku says in the movie that the droid army is suppose to make the republic agree with the separatists demands, not attack them for no reason. If no army was built by the republic, the separatists would have, well, separated, but hopefully some of them would have eventually asked to come back, and most importantly a war has been avoided.
