One of the core reasons why Palpatine orchestrated the clone wars, and why the CIS was committing war crimes for no reason whatsoever, was to make the galaxy suffer and tremble in fear, so that they would gladly give up their freedom in exchange for the order that an authoritarian dictatorship would supposedly give them.

Pretty easily debunked speech though, so why was no attempt made? The rebuttal is that why is she incapable of providing for her own basic resources? If she's working and not being compensated, then the problem is with her employer, and it is that employer, not the state that needs to increase her wages. Since her employer is Padme herself that isn't paying her staff enough to live on while she lives in luxury (which we know she does) then it is her that should be strung up on a rope and her resources redistributed to others. Its always easy to be charitable with OTHER people's money while hoarding for yourself as Padme does.

@@N7spongy Yeah, and MY point is that liberal politicians find it very easy to be charitable with OTHER people's money rather than their own. One of the few things that taxes should be used for is for communal things where resources need to be pooled for the common good, which includes paying for an army. Redistribution of wealth, taking from some people to give to other people, as decided by a wealthy third party that takes a healthy portion of those government funds for themselves is NOT good.

In my opinion, Luke inherited Padme’s tempered nature, empathy and unyielding ability to see the good in anyone. Whereas, Leia inherited Anakin’s hot blooded-ness and willingness to fight, as well as his inability to turn a blind eye to injustice. Luke inherited Anakin’s direction as a Jedi. Whereas, Leia inherited Padme’s direction as a leader.
@maimai_687
@maimai_687 2 жыл бұрын
@@jonbartolo8067 well tbh I don’t really agree . Imo Leia looked like both her parents and Luke well when he was younger he really did look like his father (reckless, impatient, impulsive) then later on when he became a Jedi he became much more wiser, patient, passive unlike his father but more like obi wan and Yoda (however like his father he never liked politics) ! Leia as I said was like a mixt between both her parents ! Fiery, impulsive, strong sense of justice, headstrong like her father but also kindhearted, compassionate, stubborn, strong willed, loyal to her principles (unlike Luke and Anakin who were more loyal to people) and what she believed was good like her mother ! Leia showed multiple times that she was like her mother in many ways ! The same way she really does look like her father. Even tho Leia was fiery she also was wise, forgiving and truly kindhearted she proved to be the leader a lot of people were willing to follow ! So imo Leia inherited both her parents personality while Luke (even tho he also inherited both his parents personality) bc of the Jedi path he had choosen became closer to Obi wan (his mentor)

Teckla Minnau. Teckla is one of my aides. Like so many of the people that we tell ourselves we're here to serve, Teckla lives in a district that rarely has electricity and running water as a result of the war. Her children can now only bathe every two weeks, and they have no light in which to read or study at night. The Republic has always funded these basic services, but now, there are those who would divert the money to the war, with no thought for what the people need to survive!!! If not for people like Teckla and her children, who are we fighting for??? My people, your people, ALL of our people!!! This war is meant to save them from suffering, not increase it. I support our brave soldiers, whether they come from the clone factories, or from any of the thousands of systems loyal to the Republic, but if we continue to impoverish our people, it is not on the battlefield where Dooku will defeat us, but in our own homes!!! Therefore, it is our duty and our responsibility to preserve the lives of those around us BY DEFEATING THIS BILL!!!

Shows the jedi slowly lose sight of their purpous by fighting in the war, jedi aren't supposed to be soldiers. It gives amazingly interesting stories and characters. it shows that there are two sides to the war, that there are good respectable people who are seperatists. and last but not least, from it came my favorite SW character of all time, Anakin's aprentice, Ahsoka Tano. she starts out as a enthusiastic, smart-alic, slightly anoying kid, but grows into the most strong badass person ever! she becomes another person Anakin would die for, like his little sister/student/friend. The way Padme's death was shot, I always drew the conclusion that Sidious was the one that actually killed her. He used a Dark Side Ritual, eluded too in the Opera scene, to keep Vader alive, but stealing the life force of Padme. It was not a coincidence that Vader's rise and Padme's death were shot inner connected like that. There is a moment where Vader stops breathing for a moment. You can hear the heart beat faintly stop. Because they would understand that the army would have needed more clones and in the end this speech isn't supporting the cause of the clones, but it's supporting the cause what they are fighting for. Maybe the clones are following orders, but in the end they are fighting for the weak and the ones who can't fight for themselves.

Sidious already had his endgame set a very long time ago a millennium back when Darth Bane alone survived that last big Jedi/Sith battle. Sadly Padmé and her colleagues had already lost. The Sith learned to adapt, and infiltrate other parts of the Republic’s infrastructure to where they were able to corrupt almost all of it, like a cancer. And that cancer had become terminal by Padmé’s time. Even if Anakin had never been found Sidious was all set to deliver the final nail in the Republic’s coffin, and the Jedi Order’s.

This one another reason I consider Clone Wars the Bible for the prequels. In the movies, Palpatine's motives were only thought to be a Jedi vs Sith thing. But here you can see that Palpatine wanted political power too even after being a powerful person. Padme was Palpatine's political rival and would have been for the rest of his life if she had lived through the Empire age. So a dying Padme and fallen Anakin was a win-win situation for him.

What are you talking about? How does this speech have anything to do with the way the Empire as a dictatorship runs the galaxy and the Rebellion in Andor/OT are standing up to it because of the way it controls everything. Padme dies, Anakin becomes a monster and the Republic falls, sending countless people into decades of suffering...and if we're following the Sequels even after the Empire falls another group of assholes rises up like 20 years later and the whole thing starta agian.

These episodes used to get lumped in with the other weaker parts of the show and I'm glad in recent years there has been a clear shift in that attitude. These politically focused episodes are IMPORTANT and set as much, if not more frame work for the Clone Wars itself than any battle can. As well as setting clear and obvious parallels with our world and this one. And it shows how good the shows writing actually is. That a show focused on war and filled to the brim with action and battles, land and space, is able to equally hold its own and in fact thrive in episodes where barely more than few fists and a single shot or 2 fly
