The Padres addressed a major need at a very high price Jason Adam is good and he's proven. He's a no doubter with a tiny WHIP whis the big problem with all the candidates for the 8th inning setup role, no one could get 3 outs without giving up a walk or hit. No one could pitch a clean inning even half the time. So, Dylan Lesko won't be playing in a Padres uniform and he reportedly was close although he backtracked a bit this year. Homer Bush was promising but he wasn't going to be ready this year or next. Best wushes to them both. And congrats to aPrelker for naking this deal happen that significantly improves this team. Only question us if Jason can be ready for today's game? Can he catch a flight to Baltimore and arrive in a couple hours?

I’m not in love with the value given up but I do like having a setup guy who can shorten the game for us. He’s had 2-3 years of elite level pitching and 2 years of control at a very low dollar number. He’s very good for this team and will help, the only thing I’m concerned about is that the value given feels quite high. I’m happy to see how this plays out, and if he helps win games now I’ll end up happy with it.

Agreed. But perhaps Lesko's regression this year was cause for concern internally and they sold while his value was still high. Oh well, at least we got a reliable RP. Now we need a SP to reduce the amount of performances like Vasquez put up today 🤮

You calling me out? MY BUDDY? DAMN! IT WAS A GOOD TRADE BECAUSE WE HAVE THIS GUY THROUGH 2027 AND THE GUYS WE GAVE UP WE'RE RATED HIGH IN THE PADRE SYSTEM BUT NOT SO HIGH IN BASEBALL. FAN GRAPHS HAS THE PADRES STARTER PROJECTED AS A NUMBER 4 AND THE OTHER TWO NOT RATED SO HIGH OVERALL EITHER. TAMPA BAY IS PRETTY GOOD AT DEVELOPING THOUGH AND THE PADRES ARE TERRIBLE AT IT SO WE'LL JUST HAVE TO SEE WHAT TAMPA BAY CAN DO WITH HIM. STILL NEED A GOOD STARTER SO WE WILL SEE.

@@Xvm794 yeah it was a good trade. Three questionable players for an established reliever for the end of the bullpen. What's not to like? And they have control of him for more than one or two years for a change. If the middle of the road prospects make it big , you tip your cap to Tampa Bay for getting them ready for the big leagues which is something the Padres have a difficult time doing.

LFGSD The boys are shorthanded but playing good. 2 games with costly errors by the Orioles doesn't hurt either but we did what you're supposed to do when that happens, win. Great road trip so far. I'll be at the Dodger game on Wednesday.

Guys the thing is homer bush is blocked bide he’s not playing right or center and at this moment profar is our mvp this is one of those moves where he has no value to the padres but value the other team he was never gonna play for the pads it’s basically Dylan lesko for Adam’s and the catcher.
