Nice, spot on and honest review as always. This watch expert/narrator is one of my favourite . But really, pagani design should make some improvements. Especially those sharp edges and the lumes. Cost cutting measures? Yes, but they can always raise their price a little bit. I won't mind paying a bit extra.

Today I received mine and I must say that they have updated the bracelet, now it has female links, the bracelet is fully brushed with a more vintage style, and the clasp is the same as the PD1718 model, they have greatly improved the quality and the cover no longer sounds rear.

i was so excited to get this one, but kinda held back because of that size, im not sure if it look great with my 6.5 inch wrist . i thought this one going to be more similar to the original 38(?)mm. Anyway, great review. 👍👍

This movement can't even be compared to the level of sophistication and functionality of the old, and reliable Seiko 7-T-92 chronograph movement with its 12 hours/60 minutes totalizer and its split time capability and ease of use. Once you pushed the A button all you need to do is push and re-push the B button to record the the split time and the lapse time at the same time.. The chronograph's seconds hands will then automatically catch up. No other mechanical or quartz movements can do or surpass that. It costs around 150 US dollars a pop and available in abundance. The Seiko SND253P1 is just a good example of such a 7-T-92 movement chronograph.

I picked up one of these straps and on the watch it looks great. However for me the design is flawed. The short part is way too short which means the clasp sits on the bone. After wearing it for a day, my arm aches. I tried the mod you did on your Bonetto but didn’t particularly like the look of the link (I only added one) as I wanted to keep the strap true to its design. It also seemed to push the clasp up and made it look like it had lifted from the wrist….I might try a second link and see if that improves it, but then I’m back to not liking the look. One thing I did try to see what it looked like was to actually fit the band the other way round. It does mean the clasp opening is back to front, but it doesn’t seem to rest on any awkward part of the wrist. I might try that and wear it for a day to see how I get on with it. If the short part of the strap was just about 10mm longer, I’m sure it would have been perfect.

@@watchreviews4k I tried it the other way, back to front, and it was really comfortable, so to save wasting it and having to buy another I will stick to it. Wearing it the right way was definitely the result of my sore wrist - I ended up with a small bruise a couple of days later in exactly the position where the end of the clasp was. For what it's worth, I have this watch and my bracelet is very tight from end link to clasp. However, the clasp has a lot of play where it attaches to the buckle, but it is not noticeable at all when the clasp is closed. Obviously for this low price, QC tolerances are not gong to be optimal and may vary quite a bit from watch to watch. Having said all that, they look terrific on the wrist and that's what really counts.

I'd say if you buy a real Paul Newman today, the decades old bracelet will propably have a lot of stretch and so Pagani have really nailed it with the endlinks. Irony aside: This will look ace on a retro-style racing leather, I'm pretty sure.

@@goodlifebdg I have already reviewed several Pagani Design Daytona homages; PD-1644 (meteorite, and silver dial versions), PD-1664, (white dial version), and this PD-1676. I will also be reviewing the PD-1676 black dial version soon. Therefore I don't want to review a PD-1653 as it would be too many reviews of Pagani Design Daytona homages on my channel. The other reason is I do not like the HZ2196G automatic used in the PD-1653. I prefer the Seiko VK64 used in the aforementioned pieces. Reason being; it is more accurate, reliable, better QC, better build quality. Also I dislike watches with synthetic gemstones. I have 238 videos on my channel, 36 in a Pagani Design playlist. Therefore I have to keep a balance between Pagani Design, and other brands. When I review the PD-1676 black dial version that will be the fifth Pagani Design Daytona homage reviewed. Regards, #WR4K

Greetings. I was looking at some Paul Newman style chronographs in the less expensive range and i am thinking on getting either this or the Invicta one, almost at the same price. However, i would like to ask you your thoughts on this. Is the Invicta mechanical? Do you find possible a mechanical chronograph for this price? Which one would you prefer between the Invicta and the Pagani? Both seem good but i guess Invicta would give more bang for the buck given the less brand status, i assume.
