Pagani Design pd1723 V2. Have Pagani Shot Themselves In The Foot?

Pagani listen you are loosing sales because of the clasp and the lume. Please resolve these 2 points. I would be a buyer otherwise.

Just ordered the gold dial.. It is the greatest watch pagani made.. I don't care about the lume because it is a dress watch & not a sports or a dive watch.. most of the dress watch have no lume so the lume is just a bonus.. It is the most fantastic watch I came across my antire watch collection journey... the size is perfect, the movement is outstanding, the sapphire crystal, the dial is amazing & most of all the price is unbelievable..

I have the gold dial version & for the price I paid for it I can say that the bracelet is good enough... I managed to adjust it for my wrist size & I like it a little loose... Pagani design is now my number 1 favorite & casio & seiko is 2nd & 3rd place.. I can imagine in the future pagani design will be famous... Maybe 2 to 3 yrs from now I can see most people here in my country will be wesring a pagani design.. I don't care about how bad the lume on pagani design.. For me it is sa casual & dress watch & not a dive watch or a sports watch the lune is just a bonus for me if they will improve it in the future.. But for me It is an amazing value for money...

Just lately pagani are using pins that are thicker than the usual 1.5mm pins. This is why the micro adjust is unobtainable. I have had to break the pin holding the clasp and replace it with a standard 1.5mm pin. After doing that the divers extention opens as it should do.... 👍👍

Thanks for the comment. Sometimes it's all the little things that add up...and Pagani design have a lot of little things wrong with their bracelets... continuously! Had I bought the watch on a strap, then it would have been a pass. Not been good with Pagani so far which is disappointing.

@@johnswatchjoint Out of my last three pagani watches sadly have had qc issues so im giving them a miss until they get their act together.!! All have been case and bracelet issues.!! So yes i do agree with your review 100%. Not having the micro adjust available is a right pain and all because the pins they are using are too wide.!! Thanks for your videios. Unfortunately, I buy these watches full price and then have to sell them on...so I really don't need or want negative reviews, BUT, Pagani just don't seem to have the capacity to sort these things out. Their problem that becomes our problem. Have to report what I find as a buyer as well as a reviewer :)

It's not a glide lock. I have a PD1661 with the diverse extension and mine works perfectly. I think it gets easier after you pull it out a few times. Mine wasn't stuck though. I think you have to pull back at an angle with it the first time. Good luck.

I think it's a great idea for them to just go with the logomark and drop "pagani design". I get that a micro brand needs to build brand recognition, but somehow I don't think this applies really to a Chinese homage company on ali. 😅

Love this review, I have the same arm/wrist and yeah it would've been perfect except for the bracelet/clasp. I have the Ranger homage, same size/bracelet on its way. Deserves a leather strap.

Thanks for the comment and for watching...yeah it was a real shame. Beautiful watch head and dial but the bracelet was rendered u/s! However in all fairness I did buy another couple of Pagani's to see if they are listening and I have reviewed one...check it out, it is my latest review ;)

Actually love this watch and I think it is the best Pagani so far…..however, I wish it comes with a jubilee bracelet to complete the vintage look and if they could do a NH34 GMT version of this would be so cool!!!

I’m just speculating, but I believe Pagani might be buying their bracelets from the same company that makes them for Bliger. When I received my Bliger it had the same issues with it’s bracelet. It was very difficult to open and it had sharp edges. I used a knife sharpening stone to very gently round off the edges of the clasp. It took some time but it worked very well. Initially I had to use a small screwdriver to pry open the clasp, but over time it smoothed out and functions normally now. It could absolutely be better, but I also paid only 1/4-1/3 of a Seiko for it, so I wouldn’t expect it to have the best bracelet right off the bat either.

Decent review! Love the look of this one. The lume for me is such a shame. Dodgy screw pins invalidates the entire bracelet as well. Such a shame. If it was proper BGW9 or C3 Superuminova and a better bracelet it would be worth paying +/- the £200 mark.

Yeah ..this was a while ago. They do well on the watch head then consistently put garbage bracelets / clasps on them. They have been better of late...even in the lume department. We can always hope!

Good review! Nice watch head. The bracelet looks good. However, they need to put more effort into the functionality of their bracelets. I own the PD-1701. There are sharp edges on the bracelet. However, the bracelet functions perfectly. On the wrist it is very comfortable. For the money the PD-1701 is awesome.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I used to think I was just getting Friday afternoon watches they were so bad! The two I have officially reviewed are just the tip of the iceberg...mostly Pagani just won't listen when it comes to bracelets. Pd1701 is good but bracelet for me could not be sized. This one the bracelet could not be sized as screws were stuck AND the micro adjuster just would not open....what is not on video is that I had to send it back as the crown broke also! I have also had two that were doa and a couple that could not get through customs...but that is a specific Ali Express store issue so I will not use again. I believe in second chances and 2 more Pagani's are on the way...fingers crossed :)!

I will admit, that clasp is a bugger. Once you have released that extension once, it then becomes easier to undo. The adjuster holes being internal are difficult to at adjust as well. I did manage it in the end. In the meantime I put my watch on a bund strap and never took it off. I have bought three Pagani watches, for me, that’s enough. I get a far better feeling with the San Martin watches I have bought. Without trying, I have become a San Martin fanboy. I never thought I would ever be saying that.

They just don't seem to be able to do it! :)...and you are right...San Martin have been a revelation, especially having had such a terrible start with their brand identity!

Alpha watches got a nice replacement clasp for the oyster bracelet if anyone is looking for a better alternative. More slim and fits this watch a lot better.

Hi there. Can't really give advice on that I'm afraid. Like comparing oranges to apples. The Pro 300 is £750 if I remember and the Dan Henry stars at £230. My review will be out in a couple of days but I would suggest trying a 300 on in the shop. :)

Did that with the Maen Hudson mk4 couple of weeks ago,...really liked the reviews and loved the size and style...but when I got it....I knew I made a bad decision. I bought the gold dial version on the leather strap. I was pretty disappointed tbh, the gold hands against the gold dial made telling the time pretty much unreadable, plus they looked too short. I changed the hands to a blue'd set that were slightly longer and added a San Martin bracelet from my BB homage and its transformed the watch, I love it, even more so as it was the first time I'd ever modded a mechanical watch. I'm looking at getting the bronze Hroudland BB58 inspired watch, have you any experience with this brand? Really enjoy your videos, thank you.

If you need to remove a link witch is faulty, take something that is very thin which you can use to hammer the screw out from the opposite side. Throw it and replace it with hopefully some of the extra links you should have. For the clasp though, use some brute force and it should open up and hopefully for each time you do that the friction should make it easier to open it up.

Incorrect. These are screw links. The screws were threaded. As for the clasp, You should never have to use brute force to open something that should be designed to open. Do you accept a stuck door on your house, your car? What if it was a new house , a new car? With Pagani everyone just seems to expect faults and lives with it. Baltany don't have faults like this. Lorus don't have faults like this. Even Tandorio don't have faults like this and they are even cheaper. Bottom line, it is lazy watch making and it is not acceptable. Rant over!

This one was exceptionally good...that is why I was so disappointed that the bracelet was useless. As a customer I was not happy. As a reviewer I was being honest, so that others know what to look for. I hope it is a good one. Thanks for your comments ;)
