Major New York City subway stations have shops like that. Examples of stations with shopping are Grand Central Station, Pennsylvania Station, Union Square, and of course Times Square. I'm sure there are others.

In the U.S. sit down restaurants often have buzzers, but no table bells. Years ago I was a waiter, and I would have welcomed an electronic bell for customers to call for service. Often you are busy taking other orders, getting drinks, etc, and don't notice that someone wants you at their table. You have to keep looking out, or walking by the tables to make sure that everyone has what they need. Lately, we (Americans) are getting used to regular deliveries for food and groceries, but normally it has been uncommon other than daily mail and occasional Amazon deliveries. In the future, you should keep the pictures up in the background longer so we have the picture reference as the Pagoda team explains what we are looking at. Great concept, fun show. I want more...

It is absolutely amazing to watch and so enjoyable and a trip down memory lane.. Being South African myself and to have had the opportunity to work in a Asian country made me realise what you miss from your hosting country. Most of all, the friendships you made from across the globe that is endlesss and irreplacable. Not to talk about buying Rooibos tea in stacks for friends on my return. Chantelle you are making South Africa proud and I have your back 😀😀😀😀 we love to talk to get our point across😃. , Mr John and Sam ! You are cool too. Perhaps you are South Africans under cover. 🙃 just kidding. For information sake South Africa is advancing a bit, some restaurants now do have buzzers to call for service. During 2010 South Africa launched a subway service (not as big as in the US, UK or Japan though. Sam we have to talk about the underground in the UK, I always missed my stop 😀😀😀)Train service is called the Gautrain and routes completed and running from OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg to Sandton to Pretoria. Future plans are to expand inter provincial. In closing thank you for allowing a South African to be part of these videos. It provides a platform to show the globe we have arrived. Thank you, stay safe. Greetings from South Africa.

@kieronbond9526 3 жыл бұрын
In Canada, most public transit will have seats as John said but in Korea those seats are only for pregnant women and in Canada they are more at large for people with disabilities. Usually there is a sticker with 3 pictures depicting a pregnant woman, an elderly with a cane and someone with a disability. And as Chantelle said, here too some people doesn't respect those. Love the pose at the end, keep up the good work ;)

In Toronto (Ontario, Canada) we actually have this underground "mall" called The Path that runs underneath a good chunk of downtown Toronto. It connects Union Station (main transport hub) to the rest of the city via underground which is pretty nice if the weather isn't cooperating. It's got everything from fast food, to sit-down restaurants, to clothing stores and department stores. Pretty cool but also, pretty easy to get lost down there lol.

Wow! So many cool things. The buzzers seem amazing, South Africa should really get some. Subways have always been mysterious to me (as a kid I thought they were fake). We don't really have subways, our main mode of public transportation would be the taxis. And not those yellow things on tv. It's more like someone with a small white minivan, like a little bus, and they are known to be crowded. And we sort of have this stereotype that taxi drivers are dangerous and don't always follow the road rules and often let in more people than it is safely allowed. Not all taxis are like this though. But yeah, I can't imagine a world without taxis.

As a customer in a customer in another country, I love the idea of a service bell. As a former server (in the US) who has had tables run them ragged without a service bell I shudder to think what would happen if that idea was implemented in the US. (And also as a customer in the US it would stink if you weren't the "squeaky wheel" because then the people who would abuse the system would get all of the service).
