Paid 12000 rupees for my Mistake! Why Malindo Air is Bad?

Being an airline staff and as a normal common man, I just want to highlight few things in the above mentioned issue. 1. The airline policies which u mentioned above is common for all. 2. Sometimes boarding time depends on airport size. Big airports like KLIA usually have check-in closes one hour before, Penang airport might be small, so 30mins. 3. The airline staffs also a common people like u and me. And they don't get any reward from company if they sell business class ticket when low fare economy is available. Penang to kul route is busy route, so someone might have booked that remaining one low fare seat by online in that 3mins gap. Mostly staffs will be passenger friendly unless the pax is rude. 4. In ur first case, 09:30 if u travel from Chennai to kul in Malindo but the flight is slightly delay, then it's Malindo responsibility to get ur next flight. Since u travelled in Air Asia, Malindo won't help u. The same apply to all airlines. As u said, u have experienced 1 or 2 Indian airliners before, there is lot to learn in Air travel and ticket bookings. Suggestions. 1. Ofcourse airline companies has some tricky words in their ticket bookings, so u must be careful and read all conditions before making payment for tickets. 2. Booking air tickets in 3rd party sites is always risky. Better book tickets in airline's own sites. 3. Mostly airline companies will have their ticket selling offices in cities they fly, visit there and book directly if u r confused abt the fare rules or uneducated. 4. Mostly airline staffs will try to help u if there is really a chance to help without getting hit from their boss. 5. Baggage cost is always high if u pay last minute in check in counter. If u r sure that ur luggage is 10 to 20kg extra, u can visit airline website -> Manage booking-> add luggage. Cost will be less. For example, u can buy 20kg slot for 5000rs in online but 1kg is 1000rs in counter.(approx comparison). So be wise.. 6. Call toll-free customer care given in website for more help. I think I covered most of the part and it will help u all whoever see this comment. Always read the conditions carefully before payment and know ur rights. Whatever problem which Irfan faced is common for all new travellers who doesn't read the conditions... I'm not supporting any company in this comment. Just a common advice for all. Peace...

It is passenger responsibilities to ensure the price for baggage allowance. If you travelling with luggage, it is advisable to purchase the allowance in advance rather than buying at counter.

Hello Irfan , hope your well.. Your doing a fantastic job as Vlogger i have been following you for past few months now :) On this video for any flight either be domestic or international they do accept check-in before one hour (its the mandatory deadline)to avoid last minute calculation and compounding for the ATC and pilots of the airline to be on same page .. and last minute bookings at airpots are also possible as the data of one or two seats can be passed on and re-calibrated. But moving 310 to 700 ringgit was pure business on their part as taking advantage of your situation . i live in Germany and make few trips of my own so the tip for next time is to book any connection flight in same airlines so that they give you special privileges or if the connection is from same airport please have a waiting period of 5hrs atleast, if its from different airport please have a 7hr gap .

Boarding gate will be closed 20 minutes before standard time of departure (STD) for Turkish Airlines operated flights. Airlines sells same class tickets in different price brackets. If i bought a ticket with no luggage, that ticket was meant for it. You shouldn't be bringing luggage with that ticket. Counter close and boarding gate close time baggage charges mentioned on ticket copy itself or you should conform with malindo air call center after that you suppose to book flight. this is your fault bro. Connection flights should be on same airlines. so they will accept you as much as possible. Airlines can accept you if last minute booking done at airport itself that is revenue for the airlines.

There is a concept called "waiting list" which is known only to internal airlines folks and airline person at gate, if we dint arrive with in a particular time and some one else wait listed may get the ticket , eventually ended up with no show on original person ticket . If there is a demand for a particular flight its better to go 2 hours before and be at the gate. This happen's all around the world and nothing specific to any airline.

Good-day Irfan! Very sorry to hear, you have had issues with Malindo. When you book with budget airlines like Malindo or Airasia, Luggage always a problem. As you have 30kg luggage, you shouldn't book with these budget airlines, better off with non-budget airlines. Because these airlines tickets are very cheap, their profit margin is very low and they make money from luggage/food charges etc. Regarding check-in time, if you carry only hand luggage, then you can web check-in and only need to be present at the counter half'n hour before departure. But in your case, you have 30kg luggage, you need to be present at the counter at least 1hour before departure. They are very strict with their rules. Always remember, these budget airlines are only for lite travelers who carry just small hand luggage. Also make sure you give enough time in-between connecting flights.

Bro, I’ve been using Malindo and air Asia for a year now and this is now they operate.. The cheapest ticket ( usually called the super saver) comes without luggage or food.. and if you move up the class, the amenities varies! In your case, I think the problem is because you booked from a 3rd party side which usually do not display the baggage part properly! Ticket cheapa iruku nu we tend to buy! It’s always better to buy from the official airlines site or app itself! It’s cheaper and you get to customise your checked in baggage, food options etc accordingly, beforehand!

It's totally your mistake bro.... Before book the flights have to go through the term and conditions details. Even not sure luggage weight just add in luggage with roughly and don't wait until last time to add in luggage sure the price will high. Second please understand the KLIA you have to be 1hr early to check in compare with penang airport which is 30mins, because KLIA far walk in distance from check in counter to departure hall and busiest airport compare with penang airport is small airport
