Main Source was 3/4 guys....2 of which were producers from Toronto, Canada (K-Cut & Sir Scratch)....but they moved & lived in NYC where they met Large Professor who's from Queens & made the group. They were the ones who discovered Nasty Nas aka Nas & put him on his first track...Live at the BBQ.

All facts being spoken. Well done. I grew up in this Queens, NY neighborhood. The video clips are from early hiphip videos that never got MTV airplay. They played on a local video channel called VIDEO MUSIC BOX. Also there are clips from FRESH FEST which was the first hiphop concert in the NYC area. The concert was actually in Long Island. You see Whodini, Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, The Rock Steady Crew, etc. Large Professor from Flushing/Corona, Queens, put Nas on. The video was shot all around Queens, inclunding Linden Blvd in Cambria Heights. Just a few blocks where Tribe filmed their famous video on Linden.

Nice reaction and you were spot on. New York based band who were the first to up their beat production (layered samples/thick beat) and Large Professor was lyrically and beat production wise ahead of his time. You can also spot Nas sitting on the stairs in the background because he was a kid from the neighbourhood. He was featured in the Main Source posse track 'Live at the bbq', slayed the first verse and became the hottest 17 year old MC to be signed. :)
