I would have preferred having her start a new school, then have our character be a student in it. Have her mentor a new Witcher, seeing as how in the end of the Witcher 3 another conjunction was taking place, thereby needing Witcher schools to be relevant again. As is, I have no interest in playing as Ciri. Also, plenty of people can become Witchers, only she can become Empress. Couldn't she do more good there rather than hunting down monsters one by one?

The medallion is a Lynx specifically. The school of the cat has a bad reputation in the witcher world but the school of the Lynx was a fanfic school that Ciri comes up with and founds with I believe Lambert. Also, she has to have undergone some level of mutations to drink the potions, otherwise they would kill her.

According to the lore in The Witcher universe, females can theoretically become witchers, but it is exceptionally rare and largely unexplored in the official stories by Andrzej Sapkowski. So it is possible. And besides, Ciri is immensely powerful. She is one of those rare occasions that a female can become a Witcher. In Sapkowski's books, no female witchers are explicitly mentioned. However, there’s no lore stating it’s biologically impossible. In fact, the mutations affect things like reflexes, endurance, and metabolism, not something inherently gender-specific. There's even an ending in The Witcher 3 for Ciri to become a Witcher. Geralt gave her a sword even. So the ending of Witcher 3 with Ciri becoming a Witcher can definitely be canon. I really don't understand how people can say that The Witcher turned woke. Females have always been part of the Witcher. In the book it's always been about Ciri. She IS the main focus.

Women cannot drink Witcher potions because females cannot survive the Trial of the Grasses. Barely any males can. Ciri was trained briefly in combat by the Witchers at Kaer Morhen, but mostly because they had no idea how else to raise a child. They gave her herbs to enhance her strength, but they never gave her the mutagens. I say she was trained briefly because when she reached puberty, the guys similarly had no idea what to do with a teenage girl, and given that her uncontrolable magical powers started manifesting at the same time, Geralt asked Triss for help, but there wasn't much she could do either. She was then briefly taken in by Yenn and trained in magic, largely unsuccessfully. No more Witcher training. Ciri IS skilled in swordsmanship, as evidenced by her time surviving in the Rats, but she is neither a Witcher nor a Witch. She's Hen Ichaer, a universe-traveling elf-blood that is a conduit of raw magic, which is why she cannot use Witcher signs either despite repeated attempts to teach her. Perhaps even more importantly, after Geralt and Yenn's deaths, Ciri dips out of the entire Witcher universe and into that of Arthurian legend in disgust with her home world. She doesn't just leave the Continent, she leaves the entire damned setting. This is the lore of the books, I've not bothered to watch the show, but idk how you can read Lady of the Lake and even fathom this being Ciri's future.

Have you played the games? Because she very much comes back after all of that and ends up as a Witcher in what would seem to be the canon endings. I don't think it would be particularly hard for them to come up with a reason why Ciri can undergo the Trial, if anyone is going to be capable of breaking those rules it seems like the magical time traveling dimension hopping elder blood woman might be able to.

I mean, the setting looks great and graphics are good, but I genuinely hope they stick with the established lore. "trials of grass" gives mediocre amount of magical power to children without magic. ciri is THE SOURCE. unlike other mages who have to draw magic from their surroundings. witchers use their toxic potions because they don't have healing magic ciri could have been a battle mage, welding magic in one hand and sword in other. but modern developers are creatively bankrupt. also ciri is immune to mutagens, when drayed tried to tern her in book 3 , it failed.

Some will say at the end of Witcher 3 she became a Wticher.. she did, but in name only. On top of that, Ciri was meant to be more powerful than any Witcher or Sorceress... she is the arguably the most powerful character in the Witcher.. making her the main character here seems to nerf her. Personally I do wish they had Geralt come out of retirement. Geralt would never truly retire. Hell, Ciri out on these missions would be enough to get him up and moving about again. Same with Yenn. She would never just retire. Makes for a nice "Happy Ending" to a story, but isn't what would happen. And remember, "No Witcher ever died in his own bed." If Geralt was never an option, then I wish it was Geralt and Yenn recreating the Trial of Grasses and us, the main character, as the newest Witcher and we go about learning the ways out in the world. Maybe Ciri, being an uber powerful person would come and help us out of a jam or something here or there.

Not sure how I feel about this. Ciri learning signs and spells is absolutely possible. Having mutations and able to drink a witchers potion is not. I hope we get to see everyone else in the game.
