Thank for sharing your experience. I will be having this same surgery March 2025. I'm currently in my 9th week recovery of open bilateral Inguinal hernia repair. The 1st 3 weeks i needed help with EVERYTHING. And EVERYTHING I did was extremely painful. So hearing your recovery gives me hope that this surgery will be a better recovery than my hernia surgery. And i was told Exparel will be injected to block the nerve for 72 hours after my surgery.

I had a c-section after 72 hours of labor!! HORRIBLE recovery. I have back problems, I had an ileostomy and a reversal this year and now I have to have surgery for a large surgical hernia. The surgeon is sending me to a plastic surgeon for a tummy-tuck/hernia repair. Third surgery this year. It's going to be awful. You're the first vid that is as extensive as I'm getting probably, so thanks.

Thank you. So helpful. I tried to not take any pain medication, other than Tylenol, but by day 3 I seem to need some. The pain in the middle of my abdomen by day 3 (when I had been doing so well), concerned me, but after listening to you, I feel like it’s probably pretty normal. I had a large separation from a twin pregnancy, and the Doctor had a difficult time pulling everything together because my muscles are very strong from working out. So pain is probably normal. I’m just a little disappointed that I’m hurting more on my third day than my first and second. But this helped. Thank you 🙏.

Take it easy and give your body time to heal - it is a MAJOR surgery, and you will thank yourself if you take it slow.

Hi. I am currently considering having surgery after 5 deliveries. My question is for a mom on a budget. I’m sure insurance doesn’t cover it. But what price range is surgery like this typically? Thank you so much. 👍
@AmyRaisingArrows2 жыл бұрын
I have found it depends on the region you are. I live in the Midwest and it was definitely less expensive than what I've heard of from other moms. I'd encourage you to shop around and ask about payment plans and such. AND some insurances DO cover it - it all depends on how it is coded.

Day 2 out of surgery & the ONLY time I'm not in pain is when I am sitting at a 45 degree angle in my recliner!!! Bathroom breaks are excruciatingly painful ( my doctor has me on 800mg Ibuprofen & flexeril). Simce the stomach muscles aren't truly working yet...I have to relax & rely on gravity to go Yesterday I had 1oz cheese & 1c Peanuts, not a good choice when you can't push a bowel movement out!!!!!

Hello Amy! I’m about to get a tummy tuck, diastasis repair, and 360 liposuction. My surgeon said I’ll need mesh in my body to help. I had 6 total pregnancies and twins were one of those pregnancies. So like you, I have a 10+ finger gap. My stomach now looks just like your before photo you took before surgery. My BMI is 30.6 and I weigh 195. I’m 5’7” tall. I’ve had two c-sections. I’m pretty excited about my upcoming surgery next month. Do you have any particular tips for me? Trying to watch all your recovery videos now so I know what to plan for.

When you said that it didn’t even feel like the pain meds were touching your pain the first day or so, did you ask for an increase in dosage or trying another opiate? Obviously people could see how much pain were and why did they not offer more? This is a huge, let’s call it a pet peeve, but is actually more of an obsessive concern to pass medical not being treated properly.

I feel great and I am very happy I did it, BUT, I still have a bulge near my belly button where my muscles were the weakest and the surgeon left a space for my belly button to "breathe." It sometimes causes me some pain, so I have thought about looking into having it repaired.
